What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been in the yard doing footwork with some makeshift cones. They recently opened up my school field, so hopefully I can get some work there as well. I’ve gotten creative with the lifts and conditioning and really have tried to focus on speed.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think I’ve gotten faster for sure, and with every year of getting bigger, faster and stronger the game slows down that much more so we have yet to see but I think the field IQ should be more on display.”

What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“Just speed, speed, speed, and probably more press technique.”

How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“Covid has made it difficult to access a rack for lifting, so I’ve had to get creative in figuring out how to hit all the major groups that I need to, so it’s been a lot of body weight workouts. The biggest thing is obviously not working with the team, but no one can really do that during this time.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think we’re going to be really solid. We have the talent as our 2021 class is the most underrated in the state in my opinion. We all know what it looks and feels like to win coming off of last year’s success. The sky’s the limit for us on the field, so it will really depend on how well we respond to adversity, especially during this time. I have faith though, and I feel like we’re going to put even more people on notice this year for sure.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think the Inter-Ac never gets the attention it deserves. Definitely one of the most competitive leagues in the state if not the region, so every year the toughest games we play are those last 5 for the title. Coach Fairlie always talks about the fact that like 80% of games in league have been one-score going into the 4th quarter. So definitely any Inter-Ac team, but we have our eye on Malvern and Haverford.

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“Like I said the Inter-AC is full of talent everywhere, so the most dangerous individual is to be seen and it could really depend on the game.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Football.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve gotten attention from the Ivies and Navy more recently. Davidson also recently.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Davidson.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Not yet other than camps. I’ve barely made a trip to my own high school.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I have some invites to campus, so if the situation allows, then I should be up at a couple of schools this summer.”

What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“Probably a selection of the Ivies, and whoever else invites me between now and then.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My dad played basketball at Texas Tech, and I knew about Wes Welker so definitely the Red Raiders by default. Later on, the University of Miami morphed into the team that grabbed my attention the most, and they were my stepdad’s alma mater.”
