What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I am fortunate that I have a squat rack, bench, and other equipment at home so I was able to keep lifting and hit several new personal records during the offseason. I also alternated days of lifting and agility/speed work. I actually have gained 45Lbs of clean weight since the end of last season while getting faster and am still gaining 4.5Lbs a month.”
What are your goals for the season?
“I really want to help my team in any way possible to win games. I’m excited to be a senior, team leader, and with all of the work I’ve done, I can’t wait to see what I can bring to the table to help.”
What areas do you feel your team needs to improve on?
“One of our biggest challenges was lack of size and experience playing football. We have recently done a lot of internal recruiting and almost doubled our roster size this year. I’m excited to see what we can make happen this year.”
Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“Our first scheduled game is against West Chester East at home. They are a great team, one of the toughest we will play this year. It will definitely be a challenge for sure.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think we are in a really good position to improve this season. Our roster has almost doubled, and we also changed conferences, so we will have some new teams to compete against.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I would have to say Truman High School. They have a big physical line with a very athletic and agile running back behind them.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“Dajuan Harris from Truman is a real threat at RB. He is big, fast, and physical.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Definitely. I have love and have been playing tackle football since 2nd grade Pop Warner/middle school/high school and always wanted to play college level football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Right now, I have interest from 26 D1 FBS/FCS schools, 6 D2 schools, and 19 D3 schools. I got a late start in the recruiting process as I just got started this January, so I didn’t have a chance to be seen at any camps last year. Now with Covid, all camps have been cancelled for this year as well.”
Do you have plans for game day trips this fall?
“Yes, I have invites from several schools to come visit campuses when things open up and watch games. I am looking forward to it.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“No physical onsite trips yet due to Covid, but I have attended a lot of virtual junior days, virtual campus tours, and coach and current player roundtables.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Not particularly, I like to watch all different levels & matchups play. My stepmom is a UVA grad and some of my extended family go to Virginia Tech, so we bust on each other about those matchups sometimes.”
