What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been lifting and working out almost every day. Along with that, I practice my speed and agility by doing different sprints and different agility workouts.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I definitely improved my strength a lot more last season. I wasn’t really one of the biggest kids on the field, but this year I gained nearly thirty plus pounds by the end of last season. I’m now weighing between the 196-200 range.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I’m trying to improve on my speed to the ball and reaction along with my power and explosiveness when delivering the hit.”
How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“Covid-19 only affected my team workouts. We used to go to this place called Damans and lift, but now that they are closed, I still lift on my own at my house.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think we are definitely state championship contenders again for sure. We only lost a couple seniors which played a big role in last year’s team, but I think we have the guys who are ready to fill their shoes.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think Aliquippa is going to be the toughest on our schedule. They are coming for revenge from last year’s district championship game, so they do have a chip on their shoulder. It’s definitely going to be one of those big atmosphere games, but without a doubt, I think we can easily beat them again.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“I think the toughest player we will play would be Vernon Redd from Aliquippa. He is there running back, and he tends to hit the hole or bounce it outside. We put a stop on him last year early in the game but again he has a lot more to play for this year.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I definitely want to play sports in college. Football is my main sport and I’ve been working hard all year to try and produce an elite junior season highlight tape to start receiving college offers.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“There are really no schools recruiting me the hardest, but there are a couple schools who I’ve been in contact with and their coaches have really liked what they’ve seen.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Unfortunately all my college trips this spring we’re cancelled due to the virus outbreak, but I’m still staying in contact with those schools.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I do have more plans for trips this summer. Hopefully all goes well, and I can make the trip out.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I most recently got invited to a camp at Notre Dame but along with that I will go to Pitt, WVU, Penn State, Penn, Ohio State, Kent, Syracuse, Rutgers, Kentucky, Michigan, and Michigan State.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“WVU has always been one of my dream schools to go there. It’s where I am originally from and it feels like home in Morgantown. I think it would be awesome to play at Milan Puskar Stadium, so if WVU would offer me, I might just commit right away.”
