What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been doing a lot of running to keep myself in shape and ready for the first game of the season. I am also improving my upper body strength after getting a Labrum repair surgery last December.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think my defensive line play has gotten way better and I think that’s the position I will shine at this year. I was only allowed to play defensive line for the big games and the playoffs last year, since I was playing through the labrum injury.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I am trying to improve every aspect of my game from using my hands more often on defense or staying low on offense. You can always improve something, you just have to work every day towards reaching your goals.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I believe we should win the WPIAL championship. Our team was young in a lot of positions last year people are doubting us because we lost an All State WR in Turner Grau, an All State QB in Derrick Johncour, and an All State Offensive Lineman in Ryan Felter, but besides that, we have gained a lot in this offseason when it comes to the weight room and kids going to camps to get better.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think that our toughest matchup will be Steel Valley. They always find a way to be great and with a new coach I think they will be tough.”
Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“Neshannock is our season opener. I think that they are a decent team. They are returning a lot of lineman, but they lost their quarterback. I think it should be a good game, but obviously I think my guys and I are going to walk out with a win, especially because it’s at home. Lenzner Stadium is an awesome environment with the best band and student section in 2A. It will be hard for any team to beat us at home.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I plan on playing football in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“WVU, Clarion, Notre Dame College, Slippery Rock, RMU, Princeton, YSU, Duquesne, Buffalo, Richmond, Brown, Fordham, Dartmouth, Lafayette, Bryant, Lock Haven, IUP, Columbia, West Liberty, Dayton, and Valparaiso.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I think Clarion has definitely been taking high interest in me and I feel very comfortable with them.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I’ve been to Slippery Rock, Princeton, YSU, Duquesne, and Buffalo.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I plan to visit to Clarion, WVU and West Liberty.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I’ve attended Clarion, Slippery Rock, WVU, and I plan on going to Notre Dame College.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“WVU. I have always been in love with them. My dad went there, and we always went up to visit and see games. It’s been a dream for me to play there.”
