Let the chat begin. Garnet Valley is steam rolling teams with there high powered offense. Prep is prep, but they are no where near as talented as they were in the past 5-6 seasons. With that being said prep is obviously well coached, talented, and can beat a team down. Prep i dont think has ever seen or played against a triple option(garnet valley has the best triple option in the state), and its hard for a scout team to master that in a week.

I like Garnet Valley 42-35.

I was wondering why GV didn’t push the game to Friday. Quicker turn around with less time to prepare. I have a high scoring affair. I think both teams have advantages in their favor so I’m throwing everything out the window. I don’t like that most of gv starters play majority of the game. I think that played a huge factor in sjp/ freedom.

I'm not sure if the Prep is nowhere near as talented as in the last 5-6 years, but it's certainly true that they've never been as inexperienced. That's part of the reason they've been more inconsistent than usual. They've also had a fair number of injuries. I have no idea how much Samaj Jones will be able to play on Saturday, but obviously he's a difference maker. Heard was injured (again) against Freedom and I don't think Klick will be able to play. Same with DiTrolio. I know: every team has injuries.

I want to see sjp attack. I was in attendance for gv/qtwn. Qtwn was able to pitch it all over the field making gv adjust to speed. Sjp will need to play discipline defense in order to slow gv, which no one has held them under 40 maybe. Teams start well but with turnovers find themselves giving gv extra possessions to score more points. With all of preps youth they are still extremely fast. Watching philips run away from lasalle’s carter shows these youngsters aren’t push overs.

Garnet valley doesn't run a triple option.

They run a variation of it. Some may say wing t and others may call it veer. But when u have 3 wings and a fullback. Dive, qb keep, and pitch is 3 options.
They do not run anything close to your typical triple option. Triple option is what Army, Navy, Air Force run. They used to run a Wing-t back in the day and they no longer run that. They run an option play to Reynolds but the quarterback doesn't run more than two three times a game. Most of the time they only have one or 2 backs in the backfield. Never have 3 in the backfield. Never do they have a fullback and two backs in the backfield. They are certainly not what I think of when I think of a triple option team.

You contain the outside on GV and you stop Reynolds and GV. He is what puts GV over the top.
That's not really a true statement either. Reynolds didn't play against Strath Haven who they beat 42-7 or Ridley who they beat 65 to 37. They have other options than just Reynolds. But it certainly is nice having him at this time of year against the stiff competition.

Navy, Army, Air F run the flexbone or wishbone triple option. There are other variations of the triple option. GV run more like a veer triple option which is a variation. It all depends on what they want you to see.

BJ - I’m not looking to hurt your feelings or put your team down but without Reynolds it’s doubtful GV would be this far. He is the difference maker. That is a fact. Nuff said.

They don't use a fullback or run out of the eye. My point being, those are important components to running a triple option. That's all I got. Enjoy the games.
