Prediction time

Ironically, all the teams I want to win should win. Prep, Coatesville, Wood, Springfield, Imhotep, Palisades and Southern Columbia.

I never put up mine , prep, wood, Imhotep, palisades, and the upset of the week NG( I’ve seen 4 games this year, I don’t really believe this is a upset)

And southern Columbia, everywhere I read , people believe they should win, some say blow out, Ive watched film, they look good but so did sckukill haven, but are they as fast, hard hitting as NG, or are we going on the history? 6 of those 7 chips came at single A, the kids that came to th NG game last week I was sitting in same area they didn’t look like much, and didn’t like what they were seeing couple were actually rooting for haven, I’m just not sure what to think, or do I know the type of competition they play, but I’ll take faster, and slightly bigger any day, the NG defense is always flying and hitting like no other, and if NG decides this is the week they feed 4, I just don’t see them losing

You do realize that head coach Jim Roth has won 7 state championships and has appeared in the championship game 15 times. I would say their program deserves a ton of respect. Who cares if they were rooting for Schuylkill Haven. They probably know they would have been an easier opponent this week than N-G.

I sure hope Southern Columbia gets the home side, they will need it for all their fans. How many from N-G make the trip?

Not many, I’m making the trip, I’m a South philly guy not a NG grad started there but didn’t graduate from there but the marine corps fixed my adolescent problems, but I played them for 3 years (sorry finished at southern lol) but NG is wearing black I hear so that makes them Home, but we will see these kids don’t care about history they just play, I’m impressed , and these kids can play, maybe SC has a plan, but you can’t coach speed, and you can’t coach size, and you definitely can’t coach the intensity that NG , plays with that much I know

SC is a lot better than SH. With that said, I don't expect a blowout. Their competition isn't strong, but they are really well-coached and disciplined and they deserve respect. It should be a good game.

Hsfootball0311, you seem like a good dude and a passionate fan. Good luck this weekend. Enjoy the game! I'll be in Bethlehem Saturday for Prep and Parkland.

Read all the same things last week about sckukill haven, got to the game and expected a great game, it wasn’t a good game , 300 fans tailgating on the haven side a dj blaring music, cowbells ringing at kickoff , then kick ran back, and the physical beating started, didn’t hear a bell again the whole night. NG might lose this week, it won’t be easy, and SC will know they were in a fight, but I wouldn’t count these kids out, hey we will see, im just excited that High school football is back in South philly

NG is the home team, but that doesn't mean they'll be on the home side. City teams don't travel. Rural area teams do. West has played halfway a few times and always took the visiting sidelines to accommodate the team that will bring more fans. It's the reasonable thing to do. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter which side the team is on.

Speed, size, and intensity (If not controlled) can only take you so far. I've seen West teams with that advantage lose big games in the past. I saw Imhotep get destroyed by a South Fayette team where they had the size, speed, etc edge.

Trust me. That SH team wasn't this SC team. They entered with 4 losses. D-11 has rarely beaten D-12 since 2008. That result was hardly a surprise. This week will be a better challenge and that's not to say that NG can't win, but I'd very surprise if things were even remotely close to that easy.

Got ya sounds good, I’m just not used to paying any attention to anyone but the city teams, this year by week 4, NG got my attention, but burrs we’ve seen this week in and week out with NG, they sat kids for ohara and eagan(discipline reasons and I like that) last week missing 4 starters for grades including #3, and they keep rolling, I don’t know albie, but kids from the neighborhood love him, he himself has much respect among South philly people and he’s a west guy , I just feel NG isn’t respected the way they should be, a win this week, wouldn’t matter in that respect anyway, LETS GO SAINTS!

I don't think they sat anyone in the CE/O'Hara games for discipline reasons outside of one of their RBs for one game. At least no one all that important. They had an OL hurt for a couple of weeks and another kid who stepped way from the team and then eventually came back. Yea, it looks like they were missing some kids last week for what you mentioned. They only had 34-36 dressed from what I could tell. Most of the numbers missing were lesser-lights, but a few weren't. Grades came out last week, but ineligibility wouldn't have started until this Monday (11/20) if they wanted it to. Not every school is the same but depending on the seriousness of academic standing you can be out as little as one week or as much as the rest of the season. If any of the kids who missed this past week were of the minor (1 week) variety, then savvy move manipulating the system and using days last week for what they probably deemed as a weaker opponent. I have no clue where any of that stands right now, nor do I care to know. We'll see come Friday.

Just looked up last years bracket sorry I’m at work with not much to do, SC 20 SH 5? Are these teams that much different 1 year latter?

I will say this about the 2A bracket. All 8 teams are undefeated headed into the quarterfinals. I would guess that doesn't happen often in the state playoffs, regardless of class.

We will, hope you burrs and all a good holiday!

Same to you, buddy...

Yes. SC was very young last year. They are now a year older. I mean, they were insanely young last year.. Also, SH entered that game last year undefeated. Their team this year was not as strong, as witnessed by their five losses on the season.

I’m just looking and of course I only seen NG live, but I can’t see how SC, is gonna beat NG, they look slow and not athletic, hey I could be wrong, but I get out work at 7 , heading straight to the rams game not the same when it’s not Neuman but I’ll take it easy win

I am certain that Fayette game has been on Albie's mind quite a bit. The Imhotep team that beat LaSalle earlier that year (in my mind) would have hammered SF. The weather the week of the state game was an issue where they literally did not practice all week and their main RB (Bonner) looked more like a liability than an impact player. But in the long run SF deserved to win that game they way they did. My one lasting impression of that blowout loss was that coach stayed on the field for almost an hour answering every media question thrown at him. You would have never seen anything like that with some of the other head coaches of good HS teams from this area. That is a fact.

I've got mixed feelings about this game vs SC. NG did not suit 15 players for the SH game and beat a well coached team. Obviously, SC is on a different level but NG can stay in this game if they play mistake free football. I'll be there watching.

Im hoping for a NG win,but they will have to contend with a good RB and a passing duo that can hurt you . The WR Flemming is the real deal with several D-1 offers as a SophomoreI think if NG can get to the QB they win big.
