Pennsbury keeps rolling along with 37-22 win over CB East.

Falcons pounded their way to 14-0 lead one play into second quarter. East answered with 57 yd td pass, then recovered pooch kickoff, hit 28 yd halfback td pass, and later tacked on FG. Pennsbury hit FG for 17-16 halftime lead.

East drove field after second half kickoff for 22-17 lead. PHS FB Mulbah ran 7 straight times including 1 yd td run to put Falcons back up 23-22. Falcons got deflected INT on CBE's next play. Four plays later Mulbah went in from 4 to make it 30-22. Each team went out on downs before East fumbled, setting up PHS at East 16. Mulbah's 3rd td, from 1 yd out, provided final margin of victory.

Pennsbury's box score looked like this:
Mulbah 35 for 198, 3 tds
Beighley 14 for 69, td
McGurrin 4 for 11, td, 0-1 passing.

East outgained Pennsbury, going well over 300 yards total offense using a variety of formations and plays. Passing game was much more effective than ground game.

Pennsbury (5-1) now sits alone in first place in SOL National, and will host Pennridge next week.

Good solid effort by the Birds.

I said it last week and I'll say it again: Better to let sleeping dogs lie!

Plus ya think a coach matters a bit in high school ball?

Then as to the 'Skins, although they did everything possible to lose against the Rams they still managed to slip by and pocket the win, 7-6 (that's like a score from the 1950s).

Still, there is a bright spot from the game in that the Red & Blue defense hasn't given up a point in eight quarters of ball (the 6 points posted by Pennridge was the result of a pick six). Plus despite dropping two of the six they have played so far just one game has been at home this campaign while of the last four they're playing three of them in Langhorne - yay (it's a weird 6 away and 4 home season).

CB West, South and East are the next three (West is in Doylestown) and then after that it's Pennsbury at Heartbreak Ridge in what might be a very important game (in addition, and besides being the usual regular season ending donnybrook, it's also the 91st meeting between the Lower Bucks neighbors dating back to 1930).

But for now keep it up Falcons -- and ...

Go 'Skins!!

Wow, no doubt. Literally a complete turnaround with basically the same kids.

Good for Nesh, love that defensive battle-type score.

Shaping up that way, the way it should be.
