We’ll find out about Coatesville this week against DTown. Garnet keeps winning but West really dominated them without a win. West and the SOL-N are in big battles weekly.

I think Pennsbury and CD told us a lot about Coatesville, if you needed to know more than we already knew about them coming into the season. The Ches Mont is theirs....5 or 6 straight titles and I know Coach approaches games like this with max focus. Hense the titles.
They've developed great tradition quickly in his tenure. And with that defense at home, they'll be difficult to beat. Being a decent not great team like CD, I see a similar result vs Dtown. A tight, entertaining game that can go any way but probably won't given things mentioned above.

Yep. Coatesville looks to be a top contender. More so than Garnet Valley. The way Pennsbury just wins tells you how good They are, Coatesville They should be in the top 3.

Not sure who is going to win but you have a 6-0 team vs a 5-1 team who lost by a point while missing the starting QB to a traditionally tough D1 team in Perk Valley. DWest has a massive OLine and some skilled play makers. This is an odd year where Coatesville’s D looks to be stronger then the O. Agreed that Ortega prepares his team very well in big games (other then The Garnet Valley game last year). It’s a Chesmont game and records don’t matter and it will be hard fought match. Should be one of the best D1 games this Friday.

Coatesville in a blowout. PV is not a quality team. I saw Roman just demolish them while shooting themselves in the foot.

I wouldn't down Perk Val too much SOL. Their resume says otherwise via DWest, Chelty wins, then linking their schedules. One important premise for me (maybe not everyone) is not basing 'all' on performances against PCL FB teams including SJP, LS, RC, AW.
You can't ignore results but have to water it down knowing advantages privates have, particularly the PCL football schools and Roman with their recommitment.
Eg, if we compared the state's 6A teams/programs to St. Joe's we'd say they all suck! St. Joe's is so good and extraordinary it suggests this, forgetting the reality of privates.

Ches: The one thing about an Ortega coached team is he'll prioritize defense, whether at York some years ago or Coatesville. He'll put his best (better) players on defense as the power teams often do in the Mid Penn (SC, CD, CV, Hbg, especially CD), making that a constant you can usually count on. And amen in division games, especially this time of year!

Coatesville/DWest should be a good one. Those old rivals go toe-to-toe no matter the records. If DWest can get on the scoreboard early, I like them in the upset. Coatesville D is very good but for the first time in a long time, they lack an explosive playmaker on the outside. If the game gets into the 28-35 point range, I like West to win. They have their QB back and Mulville and Kucera are some of the better athletes in the Ches-Mont. Should be a great game.

Stalk - Always great stuff! Only 1 time I can remember Cville looked severely underprepared was against GV last year. Not sure if Cville is as good as GV but they have the Chesmont gauntlet starting this week so first things first!

It should be a good one Friday night in Coatesville. Neither team has been challenged over the past 3 weeks, so ramping up the competition level will be critical in the early goings.

Cville:
Cville has already beaten two solid playoff teams. Pennsbury was just getting up and running, but they look really solid. Rustin is banged up and were outmanned. CD is down this year, but that score was closer than most would have thought.

West:
PV hung with RC for a half, before losing 26-10. West was missing a few keys pieces for the PV game. Skins completed a long pass early, but were no match for West's speed.

Conclusion:
None of the above means much in this rivalry. Should be a beautiful Fall night in Chester County (after days and days of rain), so the crowd should be plentiful and rowdy. Although West is young, I think they just have too many athletes and that mammoth OL will control the LOS to win a close one. West 41-34
