Never too early to look ahead at next season.

Anyone have any insight on PCL teams, Red or Blue and what they have in the works for 2017?

Not really looking at who returns for each team as those kids are easy to identify.

Who are the kids that don't have the big names that are going to be contributors next season?

Peoples over at Wood should be more of a contributor. Played a bunch last yr, started defense, and played a bunch on offense. With all the big playmakers gone(besides Pitts) he'll have to pick the slack. Looking for a big year out of him.

Cooper RB from Roman. Quiet kid, seen some time this past year spelling Guyton. Should be penciled in as the starter. From the games I attended his ypg had to be very close to 10.

Prep has the QB and WR Simmons back. Simmons is a legit D1 kid. QB is a D1AA/PSAC tweener. Wood returns their QB who was a sophomore and a sophomore OL who started the entire year. Peoples at RB for sure. Cooper was the backup at Roman right? He runs hard but is a straight ahead runner, no lateral movement or vision. Who is opening the holes for him at Roman? When I saw Roman play Neshaminy I was impressed by them, thought they would have a better season overall. But Roman loses their QB, TE, 2 WRs, and 3 of their OL. So their O returns what a backup RB and 2 linemen? That's a lot to replace. Judge loses a lot too. I see Roman vs Judge for fourth place in the big school PCL behind 1) Prep 2) Wood 3) LaSalle.

Roman will struggle again. What they lose in experience they'll gain in explosiveness and athleticism. Some transfers have started classes and the starters that do return played a pivotal role last yr. They would need to sure up the line. I really like the safety that returns #8 great tackler and pretty good in coverage. Although Cooper was a back up he ran pretty hard. Don't have the flash and glamour of previous backs but a work horse nonetheless. Their defense have less holes and will be the strength.

You think Wood finishes ahead of Lasalle again ?

The Prep has seven/eight starters on defense returning. I'll be interested if they use someone like Talley a fair bit on offense. He played a few plays on offense this past year. His combination of speed, strength, and quickness are impressive.

Wood can get kids in a lot easier than LaSalle. Different academic standards. Also Devlin is a really good coach. Not saying Steinmetz isn't, but Devlin has more talent in my opinion.

Also is Roman's D really going to be a strength? Again only saw them vs Neshaminy in person and some HUDL highlights. I thought their D was senior heavy too. Their ILBs were big, but slow. Couldn't cover Dogba out of the backfield giving up 2 wheel route TDs. They return what a safety and a corner? The CB I think is McCants? He was on the Judge WR and Prep kids highlights getting beat. He must though have had a good game vs LaSalle's Holland cause he wasn't a factor in that game. If they got in transfers that could help. Do tell as to who or what position cause that was the original purpose of this post.

I had to edit my original post. At first I agreed with you bout McCants but I got him mixed up with the other corner. He will probably be a bright spot. After going back he did really well against the best wr in PCL and they had him follow the #1 wr. Granted I didn't see every game. Judge game should of made him All Catholic but I'm bias. Seen him against Neshaminy played well again. Lasalle as u stated and prep. Prep in the playoffs he gave up a catch against Simmons (according to this group he's (Simmons)legit)

McCants had a rough game in the playoffs against Prep. He held Holland to 0 receptions and Gies to 1-17. Pretty solid year overall. Roman also returns their other CB soph #17 Jowers who injured his shoulder against prep.
Starting MLB Freshman Brian Burton #25 returns (did not play against Neshaminy). Roman also returns their best DL in Mike Leyland.
Where they lack in experience they will certainly make up for it in talent and athleticism. This group will be much faster and athletic than the group of the past two seasons.

I can also confirm that there are no transfers at this time.

Getting back to the original post a bit. I think Carroll's QB will be better this year and could get him so more recognition. I do agree with 6days it will be easier once we know who's on the move.

Steve Honick is a senior for Carroll unless you are talking about someone else....

No that's who I was referring to....... man I thought he was an underclassmen. Great kid

The QB at Carroll this year will be Khamal Gray. Dual threat QB. Will be a good player. Will only be a sophomore this year.
