Q&A with Conestoga Valley defensive end Justin Corson
How did the high school football season go overall?
“We had a great season. Our Head Coach Scepanski was in his second year at Conestoga Valley, and we had a brand new Offensive Coordinator Coach Manion. Coach Manion brought with him a new playbook, and the team worked hard all off season. We finished 8-2 on the season. Took second place in the Lancaster-Lebanon league section two. Made the district playoffs for the first time since 2010, and finished 9-3 overall.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I just finished Winter Track, and just started Varsity Lacrosse this week. I’ve been in the weight room hard since the football season ended, and hit all new PRs in bench, squat, power clean, and was clocked running a 4.71 second 40 yard dash by the Varsity Track Head Coach Periandi. Looking to keep getting stronger for the fall season.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have most of our Varsity starters returning on both sides of the ball. As a team we made a real impact last season, but still have some unfinished business. The team is working hard in the gym together, and we are excited about this fall. We feel that we have the ability to build off the success that our last year seniors started.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The Lancaster Lebanon League just did their section changes for the next two-year cycle. We are again in Section 2, and there isn’t an easy opponent in the section. If I had to pick some of our toughest opponents in the section I would say Exeter, Ephrata, and Governor Mifflin.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Jayden Zandier from Exeter.”
