Q&A with Cambridge Springs running back Brett Kania
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went great for us. We reached our goal and won the first District 10 Championship for our school since 1996 as well as a berth into the state playoffs.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I’ve been lifting 6 days a week since the end of the season and then I’ll be starting up baseball in the spring.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like we’ll be just as good as we were this past season. We lost a lot of key players on defense and some playmakers on offense, but we have the majority of our line back, so I think we’ll do great.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest team will probably be Eisenhower; they have plenty of young kids and we had a close game against them in the playoffs.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Layton Zacherl, #2 for Lakeview, he had a great junior season this past year.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went better than we expected because we were a young team, nobody expected us to go 9-3. We were runner ups for districts, and we had two 1000-yard rushers.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans in sports are to place in districts with wrestling and track again and during those respective sports get stronger and faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We’re returning our whole offensive line and several other key positions. We expect to get to the district XI AA championship game again and win.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Blue mountain/.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Dante Carr, Minersville.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went well, we did not ultimately get to the final goal we wanted to, but we are returning a lot of guys and looking forward to a great year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plan is to just hit the weights hard and get good field work to increase my weight, but also maintain my speed.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we will be better than we were this year. We will be more mature, bigger, faster, stronger.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The schedules have not come out yet, but Aliquippa always finds a way to win with their rich tradition, so I feel they will be tough.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Cam Lindsey was a great football player all around a tough gritty individual. He was the most fun kid to play against.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“We had a great season. We faced some adversity early on and we turned it around to get to the 2nd round of playoffs.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I have been taking a few weeks for my body to rest and recover. I'll start back with winter weights and some lineman training in January.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I'm confident in our team next year. We have some key guys that are going to step up after losing some great seniors.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Harrisburg, those guys always show up.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There's so much in Harrisburg, but I got to give it to Elias Coke. He's a huge weapon for them.”

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Football is good right now. I'm about to start 7v7 for NLG (Next Level Greats), and my off season workouts have started.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“We can always improve at all aspects of the game no matter how good we are as a team.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“Yes I feel as though we had a very tough and competitive team this past year.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I am very confident in our team play, I feel as though we have a chip on our shoulder, we have something to prove.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My goals are to win the city championship and win a state championship.”
