Joe Kovacs, a 2007 Bethlehem Catholic alum and the reigning world champion in the shot put, earned a spot on the 2016 Olympic team by finishing second at trials in the shot put.
Kovacs was an all state selection on the offensive line in 2006 for the Golden Hawks.
The Lehigh Valley hopes to get two track and field Olympians when Easton's Chanelle Price runs in the 800 final. She won a world championship in the indoor 800 in 2015. Price's brother Dominique was a Big 33 pick at cornerback for Easton in 2004.
