I think it's pretty obvious what the motive is in D10. With Cathedral Prep staying at 4A, everyone else is jumping to 5A to avoid Prep in district play. That only leaves two 4A schools in D10, ECP and Warren.

The other 5 schools moving up are Aliquippa, Apollo Ridge, Berwick, Imhotep and Seton-LaSalle. Three public, one charter and one private.

I guess this author doesn't really understand the demographics in on the eastern side of the state. A D5 team is not going to move up to face LaSalle and St. Joes. A D4 team is not going to move up to face Wood? And a D3 team is not going to move up to face Imhotep. There is not only one recruiting school to avoid like in district 10.

Just putting off the inevitable (a whooping) for the sake of a district title checking out the West teams in 5A; Penn Trafford, McKeesport, USC, Woody then the former AAA's of note, Franklin Regional, West A and Gateway....if they ever get their act together again.

Is there an official list of the classes after re-classification? I've only seen people's best guesses.

Joe, I've been searching for days trying to find the official list. Since we're talking about the PIAA, no surprise we can't find one.

Thanks EPC, but I've seen that list. I was referring to not seeing an official list of the schools who are playing up. I should have been more specific.

If you haven't seen it, next year's championship schedule will be:

4A on Thursday night
1A and 5A on Friday
2A, 3A and 6A on Saturday
