Thoughts on this game. Should/could be a good one with two high powered offenses versus two defenses who are second and third in points allowed, I believe.

Rams might not have enough defensively to keep the Knights under 30, which I think would be needed to keep it close.

I don't see this game as being very close, but maybe I'm wrong. When you play Chester, Norristown, Methacton, OJR, Boyertown and Upper Perkiomen you should have one of the highest scoring teams in the area. I watched this team put only 16 points on the board against PV, and six of those were on the last play of the game. People talk about the lack of quality opponents in the Central league?! Look no further than the Pioneer. Knights...in a rout...again...unless the field conditions slow NP down.

When you run the spread /read option you are hoping your athletes can beat theirs
I think NP while not very big on D they are extremely athletic if SF doesn't score and
goes 3 and out quickly a few times . it could get out of hand

48-14 Knights

I think this will be another walk away.. they proved last week that they are not a one trick pony.. this should be over by half time

Going to go 35-20 np, springford giving up 41 and 28 to best teams they faced, splitting the difference with 35, takes into account possible bad track with that field.

I think their game against WWL went double OT. Game tied at 28 in regulation. For what it's worth....

NP didn't split the hs when it absolutely should have happened to keep an athletic advantage, but that couldn't bring a state champ in. Now we have the transfer(s), maybe that will work. NP wins by at least a couple, next week not so easy.

Please tell me you are not an absolute moron and are just messing with the board because you are board and have nothing better to do with your time..

I have said on this board a number of times...I have been a life long resident of the NP school district. Followed all of the school board meetings in the Reporter (even attended a few) in the late 80's early 90's regarding the building a new school or expanding the existing school. With a aging tax base in Lansdale that did not want to foot the bill for a second school. Argued that they should not have done a land swap with the Arch Dioceses when donating the tract of land that if sold for business use would lower our tax base for years to come..

Listened to the residents in the Rt 202 area just the Montgomery county side of county line road (202, upper state Rd, Kenas rd, stump rd etc) threaten to succeed from the district and join the Horsham district because they had the top Iowa reading scores in the state if a new school was not built... until HH said the residents were too much trouble and the headache was not worth the tax base to them..

So when you take all of that into consideration.. I'm guessing it was a secrete plot to spend 10s of millions of tax payer dollars to build better sports teams..

I'm all for having fun on these boards.. but try to have some sort of truth in what you print..

Now that I have came off my tax payer soap box... as for NP-SF tonight.. the one things that worries me is NPs DL play (I first voiced a concern after the LaSalle game).. other then the Lasalle game they really haven't been challenged for a complete game..I think we all can agree that except for the top teams in the SOL each conf is pretty week..

When LS played them.. they had their way against NP pounding the line.. with SF running a spread.. I think NP has the speed to keep up with them outside..what worries me is if SF starts to do a lot of counters back.. not sure how the DL will handle it.. if it turns into a shoot out the last one with the ball wins.. plus NPs kicker has made several FGs in the high 30s including a 42 and hit from 50 in practice.. which is always a nice option to have.. by this point SF should be ready for their passing attack so NP will have to play a balanced game.. try to get SF to jam the box and air it out..

I'm thinking close game till 4th Q than NP 38-30

Hey Green whatever puts you to sleep at night. Prior to the other schools splitting NP was a hick outpost never winning a thing. Hope the transfers put you over the top.

wow... ouch... that's the best you have..my feelings are now hurt... I'm grabbing my participation trophy and going home..

As I said.. never let facts get in the way of a good story...

Small nugget of truth in my story....although perhaps a little swept away by all the campaign commercials we all just went through! I have NP in this one, but something tells me SF won't go easy.

I'll agree to a nugget or two.. as I have argued in this forum a number of times on how a few kids wound up at the school..

also many years ago as a young and new home owner at the time prior to having kids.. not wanting another school that would raise my taxes.. years later I wish we followed the central bucks model keeping the schools smaller.. funny how things change based on the perspective at the time

Just curious...

Other than Udinski, who's parents moved to North Wales, who would you call a transfer? All of the kids that play at North Penn live in the North Penn School District. The only person I think you might be referring to is Jon Haynes who went to GA but lived and played youth ball in the Lansdale area. All he did was come home. Also, If it weren't for some of the phenomenal CB West teams in the 90's North Penn might have a few more state titles. They were often one of the top teams in the East then too. It is possible that much of NP's success came from the development of the two youth programs in the area. Which is, in fact, the case. Calling them a hick outpost is extremely uncalled for considering the topic never lead to that type of conversation. You sound rediculous and childish.

NPfan, I believe the issue is that these were all athletic transfers. From gorksi coming in and going back to Norristown, to udinski having property in NP, to Haynes not being happy at GA and of course next year cartwright. They are all here for one reason and that is sports related and actually there are rules regarding this but it is what it is. Happening everywhere. The problem is the effect it has on full time, been here all along NP student athletes whose playing time is affected.

If I remember correctly back in the day CB West had some transient students also..a lot of that ended when their legend retired, South was built, and open enrollment offered better options..

Also the buxmont was hard nose football and the than sunburn one was one of the toughest programs in the state
