Thoughts on this marquee matchup gents. Saw Ridley/ coatesville last week and Ridley shot themselves in the foot. Turnovers, single coverage, no spy on Qb, Ortega killed them. Whenever coatesville behind the chains, it's empty backfield qb draw. They certainly have some athletes but appear undisciplined and school yardish at times, but it works. Think np can matchup with their athletes, think np has coaching edge from prior matchup and maybe the biggest is home field ie the poor grass/ swamp which could neutralize any speed edge coatesville may have. I like np in a mini shootout 35-27.

Cover... I have been going back and forth with this game.. what worries me the most was NPs inability to defend the run vs, Lasalle and SF last week.... they have a hard time between the tackles against quality teams (the two they faced).. Also I think C’ville will have the speed to keep up with them.. SF proved it last week catching 22 from behind on his 60 yard run.. also they did catch 8 on his TD score..but he was a little too strong from them to bring down and made a great push into the end zone..

…add in the boat load of penalties they have been getting the last two playoff games for things that should not be happening at this point in the season (off sides and illegal motion, and a ridicules penalty for taunting after a sack)..

I agree that NP will have the edge with coaching.. but the grass will be the same for both sides.. actually if it is a normal November at Crawford the mud may hurt NPs in getting receivers open.. and they don’t have a FB like last year with Izzie who could pound the middle (case in point.. I don’t think they have run that inside trap more than a couple times all season.. or the wing back counter..and the bubble screen is getting very predictable.. this is a much different team than previous NP teams.. some for the better and some for the worst…

Mmm if I’m forced to pick… this may be the SOL’s last game in the playoffs.. but because I’m a homer.. I’ll take NP by a point or two at the most..

Had previously picked NP but picking the Raiders to take this one. Ortega is the head coach but make no mistake PA coaching legend Catafino has helped develop and grow this young offense. It's not just Little Ortega and the Young brothers. Add in Hudson, Alexander and Dupree they'll need to deal with. (Go ahead and check the films and game articles). North Penn is great but wondering if they'll have enough speedy athletes to cover Coatesville in a potential shootout. Good luck to both teams and hope it goes down to last play.

I guess it depends which North Penn shows up. That Spring Ford game could have gotten out of hand but then a turnover changed the whole thing. Funny how that works. North Penn was up 21-0 and looked unstoppable at the time. NP did shut them out the second half though and that's hard to do against that offense. NP does struggle a little bit with a power run game but Coatesville is more speed based. That is what NP is geared to match up against. Then again, they faced power run games in Souderton and Pennridge and stopped them. I am hoping that SF game was good for them and re-focuses them. Sometimes getting some bad things on tape is good. Coatesville is extremely talented but I do keep waiting for their youth to trip them up. I think this is the week it'll happen. I would imagine North Penn cleans a lot of the mistakes from last week up. If they don't then they can't expect to win.

I am not going to go against North Penn in this one. I like Cville in the coming years. While NP has not played smash mouth football to this point, the truth is they haven't had to. When it is on the line, I like them to impose their will. On defense they play good team defense and they play physical. You need to look at what history has shown you, when push comes to shove don't be surprised to see a Johns/Dillon backfield and three yards and some clock eating. Beck may be in the spread this year, but the guy still knows his roots. I will say if they get past Cville, next week will bring a whole new set of concerns for them, as I have been a fan of PV's mature offense, and how they spread the field and approach the game. (I like PV over GV in the other game)

Watching both teams Its like I said last week most of the time Cville is more athletic
than most teams they play against small and quick and they are a team made to play on turf .That said this is not a big NP defense but there are quick and long and experienced
and when big fast athletic guys are hitting small fast athletic guys the bigger guys wear down the smaller guys.I see a fast start for both teams but like 6days says
power up 2 te power wing 2 backs run ,run ,run in the swamp knights win 38-24.
