North Penn 35 Neshaminy 28 in overtime.

First quarter 'Skins have ball almost entire period (literally) to take 7-0 lead.

Then Knights push them around for two and a half quarters as they get up 21-7.

Fourth quarter then sees Neshaminy knot it up at 21-21 as North Penn takes foot off pedal. But under pressure, though, NP quickly takes lead back with four minutes to go, 28-21. At two minute mark Langhorne responds as well and ties it up at 28 all.

OT sees Beck's squad go first from the ten with a score on initial play (a pass). Neshaminy proceeds to go backwards on four attempts (two runs and two passes).

The skinny: NP's defense is not that great but their QB can throw well enough and they have a bunch of receivers (I don't think they have a ground game). Course, Neshaminy's defense is good against run (stats for NP was like 15 yards rushing); however, and obviously, Red and Blue's secondary needs work (four of five NP scores were through the air and against D-Town last Friday they gave allowed three up top for seven aerial TDs "against" in two weeks).

I would also suggest the Wilmotmen would have taken last evening's tussle but for the 11 penalties they had which cost them 100 yards!!! That is way too much (and it was enough to set them back).

I also think that when they scored with a few minutes in game going for two could have been the "way to go". In OT, and with NP on the ten to start, it was almost a sure score while as to Neshaminy, its offense had been one step forward and one step back all night. When they scored they had momentum with NP on its heels right then. Stopping for the coin toss and letting everyone calm down seemed to rejuvenate NP while Neshaminy then had a dazed look about them that showed on the OT exchange (plus everyone was looking for Markus Barnett on the first play so that was almost a sure no-gainer which set the tone).

Speaking of Barnett, he's a tough back for Neshaminy (39 touches for 189 or so and about 630 yards in four games on 110 carries). They could help him by getting the ball to Ashton Lovelace (the Wood transfer) -- he is the real deal and if the 'Skins kept the long ball in their pocket and just used him at the 8 to 15 yard range that would take pressure off Barnett (and get the ball in the hands of a dynamic player). They also have two TEs that are beasts and if they get short passes in their hands it's almost a guaranteed ten yards every time (Buchys who is primary and Zacks - I think they use him there as well - they are big and tough).

I'm not writing either group off for playoffs but I don't see either as a world beater.
