Nice recap of all the SOL games

Yeah, a great game for Skins. I guess they're the Alpha in SOLNational.

Maybe not so, the Rams and Ghost put on a nice show too.

Pennridge in a pistol wing-t last night, capitalized on a lot of CB West mistakes then played a stalemate second half. I think week 1 has to be taken with a grain of salt for all teams... no scrimmages, no film exchange from those games, and very different practice schedules depending on what was allowed in each district. Pennridge looked very good at times, they should contend.

NP vs Neshaminy was an interesting game. NP has a lot of weapons at the skill positions on offense. Eaton is the real deal. In my opinion, he was by far the best player on the field. The young QB looks promising. His best sequence was the two minute drill at the end of the first half. On the other side, NP defense struggled mightily especially in the first half. Unfortunately, defensive problems have been a theme recently. The skins have gone back to power football. Their offense was very predictable (power runs with some playaction mixed in) and NP still had no answers. James is a great back and Hutchinson does it all. I liked Coach Wilmots plan of featuring his great backs and experienced OL, while just asking his rookie QB to manage the game. On Neshaminy third scoring drive, they ran the same exact play out of the same formation every snap (off tackle run out of the old power-I). It was 7-8 play drive and NP still couldn’t stop it. It didn’t seem like NP changed anything defensively as the game went on. Special teams was another area where Neshaminy dominated. O’Connor was a difference maker on those units. Neshaminy offense had solid field position all night. Second half offensive miscues stalled most NP drives (penalties and drops). I’m sure Coach Beck will improve his team, but with the shortened season it’s going to be a lot tougher. With only four teams making the dance, NP has no wiggle room now.

Pennsbury vs CBE was a tale of two halves. East came out of the gates on fire, while Pennsbury took awhile to settle in. Pennsbury clearly has lost a good bit of talent on their line and elsewhere. East returning their QB was the difference in the game. He may be the best in the conference. A key moment in the game was a third down drop in the end zone by Pennsbury WR (wasn’t a perfect pass). If that was converted, the game would’ve had a completely different complexion. It will be interesting to see where Pennsbury goes from here. This is a tough division week in and week out. Losing to a young CBE team is not a good sign for things to come.

CBW vs Pennridge was over pretty early. Pennridge took the opening kickoff back for a score. Wests offense looked out of sync all night. They had a ton of holes to fill from last years 9-1 squad. Pennridge has changed the offense significantly. Getting Hartzel back was critical. I expect West to struggle all year. I wouldn’t be too overconfident if I was a Pennridge fan. Teams may catch up to this offense after seeing it on film. However, they do have the talent to compete for a league championship.

Agree with what was said. Tough year without scrimmages and tape. And also agree with Pennridges talent. Have had talent since Hollenbach left thats not the problem the problem is coaching.
