And....The last time the Eastern Final reached unseasonably temperatures in the high 60's, as expected this weekend, was 2001 Neshaminy vs Cumberland Valley @ Hershey. Both primarily red colored teams as is Upper Dublin and Parkland. Cinderella Neshaminy won and sealed the deal the following week against WPIAL power Woodland Hills. Could Cinderella Upper Dublin do the same against WPIAL power PCC? Now I'm getting silly
And.....I think this year and in 2001, these are the only 2 times where D1 teams played back to back "state playoff games" in the same stadium. UD, two in a row at Souderton and Neshaminy two in a row at Hershey. **CBW played the east final against CD at Hershey but the next week they played the final in Altoona. Hershey began hosting in 1998.
Good stuff 16th. I thought maybe NP had played at P-W in consecutive weeks, but no. They played the east final there in 2010 and the D1 final in 2011.
I was at that CV-Neshaminy game, it was a perfect weather day. I still have that game on VCR. IIRC it was shown on Comcast , but tape delayed and aired a couple days later.

I was there too, gorgeous day. I also went the next week in the worst weather possible for Woodland Hills. I was also in Hershey the week before to see CV beat Beca.
That Beca CV game was a doozy. Beca had that high flying act and was destroying teams. They looked the Harlem Globetrotters in the first half on a dry track, dominating CV. Then it started raining in the 2nd half and Beca was grounded. Literally spun their wheels on the wet grass. CV had a big bruiser fullback that took over and hammered Beca's def the whole 4th quarter and pulled out the win. If it wasn't for the rain, Beca would have surely won and may have changed Neshaminy's course in history the next week.
Cover/move - Several years and recently (2013) NP had balance, their QB Shearer was on fire the last half of season and in the playoffs(1400yrd passing w/ minimal attempts, 15 total td) but Beck is stubborn and predictable. Nesh was up 28-7 really early, before you could blink w/ ground and pound in D1 champ. game.. Beck has one State championship. On that staff he had Jay Jones as OC and Carey as DC.... that could be the difference. He will not get another, no way no how...
