The word around school this morning is Frederick met with the team yesterday and informed them that there is a "less than 10% chance" he will return this season. A few players were disgusted and left. The QB is transferring to LaSalle to play with Schmidt.

RIP Neshaminy Football

I heard that this move might be happening awhile ago. If this plays out the way I'm understanding it, La Salle is going to have alot of explaining to do. Not only is the QB going to be an upperclassman transfer but his father was and will be an assistant coach under Schmidt at La Salle. Stinks to high heaven!!

This kid going into his Junior year with Schmidt could be lights out! You don't think any of the success he had last year was a result of that staff do you?

Schmidt is the o line coach. If you think Brett Gordon is going to let Schmidt have a crack at QB coaching, then you don't know Brett Gordon!! Either way, this whole situation stinks!!

That is the state of public schools.
They have been de-emphasizing sports for quite a while.
They want 5-5, no play-offs, No extra costs, turn the page to the next season.
They want a coach they can control and who is just happy to be there.
It will not go back to the way it was....ever!
My suggestion to you if you have an above average son in skill and size,
is to get him into a private or Catholic HS. They get it! They promote Athletics
as a way of promoting their school. The public school system has a river of tax dollar money
coming in and they would rather use it to hire 3 more asst. principals for $125,000.00 per year!
It will not get better, It will not change, It probably will get worse!

Paul, just like the rest of the board, you have no clue at what you are talking about. Did I ever say Schmidt coached quarterbacks at LaSalle?

What about the QB at LaSalle already? He will be a senior and waited his turn for two years.

Is Daddy following the QB to LaSalle? He's a coach. He's undersized. Too bad that situation chased out two upper classmen quality QBs. Neshaminy will be screwed three ways over.

"This kid going into his junior year with Schmidt could be lights out." Your exact words. Now how am I to take that any other way?

So you're claiming nepotism? Another false comment. Coach Frederick fired the "QBS daddy", so I think he won the job fair and square over the transfer from ND. The other upperclassmen qb never came out because he didn't want to work for the job. I think it all worked out in the end. Isn't the qb who never came out a stud baseball player? Another benefit for him would be for him to begin football again if the current qb transfers. He'd be the starter right?

Then what do you mean when you say "going into his junior year with Schmidt..."? You mean Schmidt is a lucky charm?

I mean schmidt is one of the best football minds in the area. Do you really think Schmidt had NOTHING to do with LaSalle's passing game?

So there's no misunderstanding, Schmidt had absolutely nothing to do with La Salle's passing game!! Having Schmidt advise Brett and Drew Gordon about passing would be like Ryan Howard advising Ted Williams on hitting. Just aint gonna happen. When did Schmidt ever throw the ball? Schmidt's presence on the sidelines this year did not change La Salle's passing gameplan one iota.

Soundds like kind of a half-assed rtesingantion speech? If he is only 90% sure he is leaving, under what conditions( the other 10%) does he stay?

QBs daddy was on the sideline this year. Was he a trainer?

Upper classman put his time in and was passed over last year in garbage time most of the time for 9th grade kid.

Yes that kid is a stud baseball player ... just an all around athlete when given a chance.

Reluctant,
Don't mistake activity for achievement. "Putting in time" earns you nothing. It's the Neshaminy Redskins, not the Neshaminy Wildcats. The best players play. Your boy got beat out, period. Did the other SOL coaches who voted the kid who beat him out all league do it because his dad was on the sideline or because he's good? You know the answer.

And if "stud" means average player on the JV then yes, he's a stud.

Good point, Paul. Except for you and Shoe, this thread sounds like it was written by a bunch of twelve year olds. Schmidt will have no influence on any LS qb.

WOW!!! Moscowtopatton, you're like a little puppy with all this energy, just charging from one point to the next. From Schmidt being the Don Coryell of High School football to La Salle's defense not having been coached. Take a deep breath, step away from the keyboard and think before you reply. La Salle was 8-3 this year with two loses coming against the ultimate State Champion (God that hurt typing that).

Paul, this MTP guy knows absolutely nothing about LaSalle FB and may not even know a thing about FB. Best to let it go.

The funniest thing ever on this site is the idea that Schmidt had ANYTHING to do with LaSalle's passing game!!! The 2 Gordons know more about quartertback play and the passing game than any local coaches. Why would they let such an unimaginative football mind like Schmidt anywhere near their QBs. Frigging hilarious.

Job won't be posted until the AD is done secretly offering it to all his buddies from CR again.

What are the some of the potential roadblocks or issues with the admin that could make this job less desirable than what it once was? Besides just the AD or admin " not caring" about sports.

Wow. Staunch supporter. Is he paying you by the post? Or did he promise your boy the starting QB job this year?
