Should be a great experience for the Skins. Ocean City looks like they have a good program but I don't know anything about the level of competition.

Skins!

Whippets play Williamstown at 4.

NJ have any different rules than PIAA? Tolls for crossing midfield? A success tax for TDs?
I believe Archbishop Wood also plays thers against Red Bank Catholic a NJ state champ

Out of a slate of some 11 games there are four "local" teams playing in "The Battle" including D-Town West which plays Williamstown, NJ on Friday, 8/26 at 4:00 pm followed by Neshaminy as the 'Skins line up against Ocean City directly after the Whippets' game (Neshaminy's kickoff is set for 7:00 pm).

Following next (as to local teams), on Saturday, 8/27, Wood lines up against Red Bank Catholic (NJ) at 7:30 pm and finally, on Sunday 8/28, Roman Catholic takes on Millville, NJ at 11:00 am.

That's cool as those four local clubs see two SOL and two PCL groups involved. Nice mix with two Bucks teams, one from Philly and then one from Chester County (good spread across the region).

By the by, the 'Skins had a boatload of sophs and juniors on the field in '21 so we do expect an improvement this season. As a result there appears to be significant excitement back in Langhorne (we'd like to see solid, solid improvement over this past year, that's for sure).

And maybe it's time I get back to visit my high school summertime haunt (the South Jersey shore) and take in some ball games come this August.

Wood defensively will be very strong ,not so much on offense imo.

Its really too bad that something like this hasnt been planned . There could be some great matchups between leagues and District champs.

In the Phila area
Not too late to make it happen Lil. I just asked the West guys if last year's "WPIAL vs Everyone" (Harrisburg vs Pine Richland, et al....Wolvarena) will happen again on the Pine thread.
Nice to see SOL or PCL make the same challenge. There are teams unafraid of a real challenge. Still a lot of hunger out there after 2020.

Its amazing to me how the Phila. media has forgotten high school football and in general all high school sports. Do they think no one cares ? Its difficult to find coverage other than local area newspapers. The daily new used to do a good job following High school sports now its basically just the Pro teams. I really would appreciate some Media outlets to step forward on this. Pittsburg and Harrisburg are great ,Phila is non existent.
