La Salle St. Joe

Do you guys ever get tired of the rematches every year in the playoffs, especially considering everyone qualifies? Almost makes your regular season meaningless. What I like about the D1 playoffs are the different match-ups between leagues in the post-season. For example, glad Garnet Valley won tonight and will face Neshaminy next week. Did not want to see a rematch against CB-South.

Someday I would like to see a SE PA super regional.

Yes, it would be better to have it like D1, but it's not that way....

I have mixed feelings about the situation. Having all four 6A PCL teams qualify for the playoffs does reduce the meaning of the regular season games and too often results in first-round games like tonight's Prep-Roman game. Such games have been the norm for the last five years for both SJP and LaSalle, though I know tonight's LaSalle-Judge game was close till near the end.

On the other hand, the Prep-LaSalle rivalry has an intensity that makes any playoff win extra meaningful to whichever team comes out on top. How many good games were there tonight in D1 among the 6A teams and will there be any game next week that will be as meaningful as the Prep-LaSalle game?

It's a rivalry thing!! Michigan-Ohio State...Yankees-Red Sox...Army-Navy...Iggles-Dallas/Giants. If you look into the history, considering the teams have been around for a long time, it's relatively recent but it is still one of the best!!! Two very well backed programs with good coaching and something on the line, it seems, every time!! North Penn and La Salle have started a nice rivalry but it's second level compared to St. Joe-La Salle!!

You could still have the rivalry in the matchup in the reg PCL season. If that all rolled into a bigger league where 16 of those teams were in the playoffs...and a chance those two could potentially meet again st the end of that .... that would be magic. IMHO

Another option: the PCL could eliminate the 6A semifinal games, thus making the regular season games at least somewhat more meaningful and freeing up a week during the regular season--preferably in the early part--when teams could play good out-of-league games---against an Inter-AC team, Tep, a team from Jersey (north or south), etc.
