How will Springfield (Delco) and the central league be this yr?

Springfield Lost arguably the two best players in the league their QB on offense and MLB on defense, and that is tough for any lower enrollment team to overcome. They are rumored to have the MLB from Bonner transfer in, so that will soften the blow somewhat on defense. But they won a lot of close games last year on the moxie and experience of those two kids. I think they will be solid but probably not good enough to run the table again this year. We will know soon as they take on Ridley in week 2 in a ' non league ' game (only in the Central League....).

They did get the transfer All- Catholic MLB Tom Becker from Bonner!! That is a big pick up.

Speed, what are you hearing about Ridley? Its a sad statement, but I'm not expecting much from the Green; another 7/8 win season and no playoffs is my extremely uneducated guess.

I have no read yet on Ridley, mostly due to a huge question mark at the QB position. They will actually have decent size along the lines, both WR returning along with soph RB( now a JR) who was getting the bulk of the carries by the end of the year. But they have been working 3 kids in at QB-none of which are setting the world on fire.

The way the league is set up now, they still need to compete better than they have against the other AAAA schools( Stoga, Haverford, UD, GV). If they continue to go 1-3 against the big 4-they will have anothe long season. We knopw GV and Stoga will be solid. Haverford has the QB back-a 3 yr starter-so they will be touigh as well.

The Cougars will be BIG defensively. Cella (6' 3" 280lbs., Pastore 6'3" 240lbs., and their TE - 6'5" 250lbs. Division 1 signee - Temple University, make for a tough D unit
