that is one hell of a team. If not for Swift, the Knights would be representing the East in Hershey. The Prep needs to clean-up the penalties if they have any hoping of bringing the title back to the right side of the State.

Congratulations to the Prep for a great win against a very good North Penn team. In spite of some very BAD officiating who obviously didn’t want Prep to win tonight.

Another great HS football game today at Martin stadium. Congratulations to SJP. NP played a heck of a game. Thanks to the team and coaching staff for a great year and a great playoff run!

NP played a great game. Honestly, a split second moment in time was the difference which speaks volumes to the game it was.

Roxy....what was that split second? I wasn't at the game....fill me in!

Probably the Udinski fumble with just under 3 minutes left. The play started at the SJP 39. NP had some momentum. Udinski goes back to pass, the middle opens up, and he scrambles through. He is hit from behind inside the 30 by Lowndes and SJP recovers at 24.

It wasn't a bad/sloppy turnover by Udinski. It was a great play by Lowndes.

Personally, I had a feeling NP was going to score on this drive, but the SJP defense made a great play to prevent it.

Exactly what Huck said ... NP goes in there and then there's maybe 2 minutes left, if they don't burn even more clock, could be less. NP would've had ball on Prep 15 at 3 minute mark if not for forced fumble on great play. You get ball back down 32-28 and no timeouts. You're throwing the ball to get in the end zone and the odds are lower at that point. IMO, you could say that one play was difference in the game. It sounds dramatic, but it proves how close the game and teams played.

Burrs 5 , got to call as I see it, was a sloppy turnover considering his ball security issues in last 3 games, with 2 pick sixes and fumble return for td in 2 games prior. Add the 3 picks up til that point in prep game someone should be aware to put 2 hands on ball, or frankly slide. Look how can you kill the kid, he threw for almost 4,100 yds , 40 tds, np probably not in this game this year without him, but it is what it is. Bad turnover.

We'll agree to disagree.

IMO, I saw a kid trying to make a play and he was making one. The SJP defender just made a better play. That was a hard, clean hit from behind. Ideal ball security doesn't always mean no fumble. They're all judged separately. I'm not looking at anything prior to that play or what happened in previous weeks, but just that single play.

That kid is a great HS player/QB.

Aren't the numbers for yards gained from scrimmage a bit skewed by the fact that the Prep had the kick return for the TD?

last I knew kick return yards were just that and included in special teams figures. They are not included in yards from scrimmage.

No. Return yards aren't counted as yards from scrimmage. They are return yards.

Of course, but a long kick return, especially one for a TD skews yards from scrimmage stats. In fact, the Prep had one or two other long returns. I'm not arguing it wasn't quite an evenly played game--just that one stat Huck provided was perhaps misleading in the absence of a stat for return yards.

Return yards:
NP: 6/102 (6 kickoff returns)
SJP: 5/180 (2 KO (TD), PT, & 2 INTs)
