'Skins came out like they would go right down the field for a score after taking the opening kickoff. But an interception stopped that drive and saw the Panthers take over and earn the first score to make it 7-0 after the PAT. An onsides kick by Q-Town followed with the Panthers recovering and in no time it was the home team up by two scores.

Ouch.

Then Neshaminy calmed down and put together a quick drive of its own featuring a Mason Jones pass to Denzel Hughes for six. Dylan McDonald hit the PAT as the score tightened to 14-7. Then after the kickoff by the 'Skins, Quakertown put up a three-and-out and was forced to punt. Hughes made the catch and took off running as covered 73 yards for the score as the teams were then tied 14-14 after the McDonald PAT.

Quakertown has the ball to start the second quarter. They have a fast offense.

By the way - that damn button is still screwing me up so I'm having trouble with numbers.

Second quarter slowed down but I'd give the nod to Quakertown.

Here's what I don't like in this developing track meet of sorts: Q-Town picked Jones on Neshaminy's initial drive in the game and then drove for a score. Neshaminy picked Garlick in the second and ran out of gas as they failed to convert on a short fourth down at the Panthers' thirty-yard line.

I also hope our boys weren't reading the newspapers all week long -- that a bad scene for a high school grid squad when they buy into "their press".

Quakertown receives to start the second half.

Quakertown received to start the final half but couldn't do much as they punted it back to Neshaminy. The Redskins then marched down the field on a clock eating drive that ended at the four where McDonald put it through the uprights for three points which tied it at seventeen all.

Following the kickoff Jack Spingler soon pilfered another Garlick pass and Neshaminy had the ball on Quakertown's side of the field as the fourth-quarter got underway.

The final session saw Will Dogba score two while Spingler grabbed another pick -- I lost count but learned he had three plus the fumble recovery the game goes to Neshaminy with a two score win. I was having a horrible time with the WBCB feed so barely got any of the fourth.

Anyway, I guess if you take out the horrible first-quarter -- where they gave up the two scores -- they allowed but a field goal after that ... but it sure seemed hard.

Wooooo hooooo! Go Skins! That is awesome after a tough regular season. To make the playoffs on the last game of the season by beating your arch rival on and defending District champs on their field and win the first two playoff games including smoking an undefeated team, wow! That is a successful season! I hope it continues. I am quietly rooting for a Neshaminy - Pennsbury District Final, with Skins winning of course! But, stay calm, one game at a time. Keep it going Skins!

Iron Marshal --

How about we have North Penn in a rematch next week. Wow - getting exciting -- and I can see you're pumped up after tonight's win.

Go 'Skins.

What I like about the Qtown venue is that your right next to the field and can really see the line play. I think the game changed with the score 14-7. At that point Nesh. started to take control of the line of scrimmage. On offensive 3 or more yards every play and the D line was making a lot of key plays especially 1st down giving up little yardage. Nesh 3rd quarter drive took about 10 minutes. They just wore Qtown line down.
Qtown played very well but turnovers can kill a team at any level but especially high school.
Sitting on the nesh. side the players on & off the field are disciplined, no fooling around. Nice turnout in the student section and the band was great. The community should be proud of the students who represent them. Ditto to Qtown.
Only concern i have is why most people showed up after kickoff for Nesh....qtown is in Bucks County.
Qtown snack bar wonderful. 3 kraut dogs and very generous with the kraut!

Shoe -

You old dawg -- you sure seem to have mellowed a bit. But don't get too mellow as although you can be "biting" at times I will say you do "speak the truth" -- tough to swallow sometimes.

I try. Next week will be a good one. Now that Beck has a passing game he is less predictable. Nesh. keeps it close and plays it's game they can win this game.
Downside, 2 good teams, big game and even if it doesn't rain, a bad tract.

Shoe is spot on. What a fabulous atmosphere in Quakertown. Alumni Field is a top 5 venue in District 1. What a disappointment it will be to go back to that cow pasture at NP next week. They better not get any rain in the middle of the week.

Agreed, great venue for a game. Qtown's front 7 played really well - stopped the Skins on multiple short yardage situations. Without 16's fumble while driving at the beginning of the 4th, I think Qtown wins.
