This doesn't look to be South's year. Still, they have had some moments out there but couldn't capitalize on them. Three turnovers and a botched punt (in just the first two quarters) didn't help them.

'Skins defense still likes to go into that poor tackling mode now and then. It seems like they just get too relaxed as if they think they have them bottled up and they get sloppy. But even with that said they did tighten up when it was needed.

Offense pretty much can do what they want.

Rough year, though, for the Golden Hawks. Looks like they're giving it their best and they have scooted on that option on more than a few and when it works it does look nice. Kudos for sticking in there and working at it.

It was 35-0 after the break and after the G-Hawks stalled on their first possession of the second half Neshaminy's offense then took over. But after moving the ball nicely the back-up HB fumbled and a South player picked it up and took it to the ten. The Hawk's offense then put some points on the board a few plays later.

With the running clock it was mid-way in the fourth when the back-up 'Skins scored on the back-up Hawks.

From there the time went by very quickly.

Nobody hurt on either team (that's good).

On to next week.

Neshaminy was just too much right out of the gate and never looked back. Cornerback Jacob Gordon had a huge night with 2 interceptions, one a pick 6 and another really nice breakup of a pass. He caught a pass as well. Gordon will probably be one of teh Suburban One defensive players of the week based on this performance.

On the injury front, Skinner, DE Luke Hitchens is still out with his knee injury from the first drive of the Bensalem game. I am going to try to find out what the prognosis is tomorrow. On the plus side, Sophomore starting WR Corey Joyce was back after missing about 3 games with a concussion. He caught a pass as well.

Mason Jones had an erratic passing night as he was wild high early and then was throwing low later in the game. He did have a terrific 42 yard run and was only stopped from scoring by a diving tackle by a Hawk DBack.

Zach Tredway had two TD catches, Wil Dogba, who pretty much had his way all night running the ball also added 2 scores.

Neshaminy's backup placekicker even got in on the scoring adding the last PAT.

This will bring the Skins to a showdown with arch rival Pennsbury who lost to Abington tonight. I don't understand Pennsbury's play calling. They were having late success throwing the ball and suddenly reverted to running as they approached the Ghost end zone with time running low. The Falcon's QB got dinged with seconds left trying to run on third and goal from the 6. He staggered to center and spiked the ball on 4th down. He may need to get checked for a concussion. Hopefully he is OK.

Next week we'll see if the Redskins can close out the perfect regular season against the hated Falcons.

Skinner, I guess Jones is now tied with the great Pete Cordelli, Jr now as the record holder for TD passes in a season. Next week against Pennsbury he could break it

Iron Marshall -

I was aware of Luke's knee twist so I didn't expect him tonight.

Then I did see that Jones threw a bit high early (I thought the South DBs were sticking on the receivers quite tightly - were there two pass interference calls - so maybe he was taking that into account). Then on some of those low balls it seemed he was trying to keep it away from the coverage again (one that hit the dirt worked out well as the CB woulda picked it if it was on target).

He did stick it in there on those two to Tredway (for scores). And yeah - at 24 aerial scores for the year he's tied it up with Pete.

I also thought Dogba looked particularly dynamic tonight. He knifed through cracks (it seemed he turned his upper body sideways to get through) and there was one time when leaped over the pile at the line and then continued on.

He seems to find alleyways, small openings, tiny slivers of light -- and then he looks like a 'gator at times doing a death-roll (hard to hang on) He wants the yards.

He also had great success going to the corner on what appeared to be something that started as a dive that would split the guard and tackle (I thought the South ends were crashing too hard - straight to the point of attack at least where they expected it to be - and then he turned outside and the next person he'd see was a slightly late trailing 'backer or the corner coming back up after being cleared out or back deep by the receivers route).

Good to see Joyce back too (more receivers in the pile they have).

And Mason had some nice ground yards (he just about had the long one for a score - the diving tackler just got a hand on his foot). Considering how little he has run all season I bet he had near 100.

Glad a bunch of clean jerseys got out there too. Some nice runs by Crescenzo and then Savaungh Hebron was punching it up the middle (glad coach had them take a knee as if he didn't I think Hebron was going in on the next carry from in as close as they were - although he deserved the six points for his effort).

Manzyk had some nice sticks and Gordon gets after the ball (he seems to be in the right spot at the right time and his first INT was a great grab as he really stretched it out to make the catch). John Hughes is also starting to make noise on the D (he gets excited, for sure).

Relayer -

Who said anything about a showdown? We're just talking about tonight a little bit and then Pete Cordelli's record from the last century.

I'm gonna call you tomorrow (you better pick up).

Luke Hitchens supposed to have surgery on his knee Saturday. Poor kid is out until at least the States. I hate to see these young guys get hurt like this.
Hitchens has really come on as the year went along. He is a sophisticated so if he recovers as expected, he has more football to come.
