Easton opens the season with a 35 yard pass play. This is weird.

Rovers up 17-0 in mid 3rd quarter. Just had their second penalty for an illegal blindside block on punt returns for touchdowns by Jake Herres. A year ago, both would have been played back in the film room about 30 times tomorrow morning and the whole room going crazy.

Easton wins 31-0, plus had two punt return TDs called back. Sloppy debut with three turnovers and a ton of penalties. But the Red Rovers held Stroudsburg to 62 yards of total offense in the shutout.

Jake Herres caught 3 passes for 98 yards and two scores. Scott Poulson finished with 155 yards and 3 TDs through the air. Latrell Thompson rushed for 60 yards and had an interception on defense. Ayyub Dail had two sacks and a forced fumble. And Dominic Falcone and Tamir Jackson both saw their first varsity action as freshmen, always a good sign for program building. Lots to clean up, but not a bad start.

Can we all just admit any win versus a North team is expected? The South, according to Keith Groller, 59-11 versus North, over 4 seasons. BC has most of the wins for North. Last night, South outscored North, 375-61.

I expected them to win. I looking for more qualitative things, like player rotations, passing game concepts, and who looks better/bigger/faster from the returnees. Stroudsburg is a better measure than one of the Pocono Mountain schools, but no LVC school should lose to them. I certainly miss opening with Pennsbury or CB West or Cardinal O'Hara like Easton did from 2003-2014 before the conference merger, but such is life.
