Whippets move to 8-0 but defensive issues remain. Only gave up 14 but a defense that played well early in the year is struggling big time, particularly vs the run. Offensively, slow start but Mattioni and another great game from Barr carried them. Harper solid as usual on both sides of the ball yet not many carries tonight. Riddick had surgery this week and is now done for the year.

What's the word on Riddick? That puts a little more pressure on Barr I think, not that he's not up to it. The kid has been the MVP of the Ches-Mont this year. He gets my vote for player of the year in Chester County. Your right though, Whippets had better figure something out on D before the Cougars roll into Kottmeyer...

Barr is definitely the MVP. My question is this kid is maybe 5'7 or 5'8 and 170 or so lbs. Is he getting any serious looks? Mid majors?? 1AA?

There enough offense there with Barr, Mattioni, and Harper (taking Riddicks carries) to put points up. It's the guys they're missing on the D-line that is killing them, only one of which, (#74 who plays the nose) I think has a chance to get back on the field this year. #54 Peterson 3 yr starter I don't believe we'll see again.

Barr and Mattioni were both at WCU on Saturday. Missing #54 on the DL will hurt come Week 10 and postseason.
