District 1 5A second round

Some great matchups on tap. None of the top seeds are a lock unlike 6A. Henderson has really come on strong and they've won several keep playoff games in years past. You've done a great job Coach Myers but Academy Park has to be the favorite in this bracket. Good luck to all.

Shanahan at Academy Park
Henderson at Upper Dublin
WC East at Marple

Ill gamble hear and say I think the Chesmont League teams have a shot in 3 of these games. If Shanahan can keep from turning the ball over and give the Qb time, they may just have shot. I also like Henderson and West Chester East. They are both more physical than their opponents this week. If Hirsch were healthy for WC East, they would have a really good chance of pulling the upset. #70 for Marple is a real force rushing the passer. WC East will have to figure out ways to keep him off of Thompson. Only saw Great Valley once but in fairness to them they were really banged up. If they are healthier, maybe they can go toe to toe with Springfield. For now, I would give Springfield D the edge because they are more physical. 13 and 9 are very good players for Springfield. Finally, Henderson can absolutely win. This program has a knack for going on the road in the playoffs and upsetting people. Wouldnt be shocked if they do it again this Friday night. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

IA - Read that Great Valley has lost several starting lineman over the season. No execuses here and agree Springfield d looks strong. I think Coach Ellis is one of best Chesmont coaches and wonder if he can motivate his team enough to have them knock off his former team.
