District 1 2021 Favorites

Hey d1 I’ll take a stab at it as I’m no IA Delco aka the Phil Steele of high school football in the southeastern pa. North Penn, Neshaminy, Coatesville and possibly Garnet Valley if we ever get back to normal!

Without doing a deep dive yet (too early LOL), I think North Penn will be the favorite. From what I saw this year, they return the best player in the league in RB Eaton. They also return their starting QB and top WR. They will need to get their defense situated, but if they do that, watch out. I think they can be very good in 21.

I like Coatesville a lot. They were super young last year and still got there after major losses at qb Ricky Ortega wo Dapree Bryant and rb Aaron Young. Surprised Pennridge beat them, kicked their butts statistically but, they were young and Rams were good.

**** Dtown West looking good too!

Coastesville should be very good again at the skill positions next year, but don't they lose a LOT up front?

North Penn returns their skill as well as some solid o-linemen. As previously noted, they've got to do something defensively or will have to win shootouts every Friday night. They will be scary offensively.

Pennridge loses their entire offensive backfield as well as a good deal of their lines. Picciotti is their top returner but they'll have to really reload.

Abington loses that big line and Frazier. Solid QB may struggle to find hole and targets.

CBW graduates a very small class and brings back a backfield that was FR, So, So, JR with another So as the first off the bench. Needs to build a line to get back to their 2019 level.

Neshaminy needs to replace a great back in James which won't be easy.

Thanks for the props 4itech. Not so sure I warrant the publicity as I'm correct maybe half the time but I'll take a stab. I believe North Penn will be explosive offensively. Not really sure what they have been doing defensively since they won their last District crown 5 years ago as they tend to give up a ton of points and the front 7 are atypically out of place. Neshaminy has struggled defensively as well. Not sure what else is out there so I will say Pennridge will still be a playoff team along with Souderton, Abington, and one of the CB schools.

Garnet Valley and Haverford High are now the class of the Central League. Ridley and UD seem to be a step under the 5A's now.

Coatesville and the Downingtowns will be too strong to keep out of the field. Look for one of those teams to make it to the final 4 again.

Am I missing anyone??

Forgot Spring-Ford and Perk Valley. Sorry PAC 10
Yes IAdelco….was just doing a write up. They have some good ones coming back, although they will graduate some of course. The ones back are smart heads up players; Nicoline, Horvath especially at MLB with a motor an attitude. Qb, WOs, Rb too. With Brubaker there they are an auto pick. Small and nothing to look at from across the field but they really get after you, are well coached and typically good team speed. Shocked Souderton I think and could have won that one.
