In 6A, there will no longer be a subregional (if the proposed brackets get accepted this week that is). District 11 will have eight of its 13 teams make the playoffs (the two Pocono Mountain schools, two Allentown schools, and Northampton will miss) with the winner still feeding into state quarters against the D12 winner.
The four D2/4 teams (Scranton, Hazleton, Williamsport, Del Val) in 6A are now in the West. All four will make playoffs, and the winner of their tournament feeds into the Round of 16 against the D10/6/8 winner. Quarterfinal match up is with D7.
In 5A, there will be a subregional with the four D11 teams and three D2 teams. All seven teams qualify for the eight team bracket, top seed (Whitehall or Wyoming Valley West) will have a bye. Winner feeds in to quarters against the D12 winner (Perennially, Wood).
In 4A, four of the seven teams will make districts, with the winner feeding into the Round of 16 against the D1 winner, then quarters against the winner of D4 vs D5/6/9.
This is the first I've really looked at the bracket, in6A, by keeping the 64 team bracket, here is who makes districts:
D1: 16 of 32
D2/4: 4 of 4
D3: 16 of 16
D6/8/10: 4 of 4
D7: 8 of 14
D11: 8 of 13
D12: 8 of 12
Cutting a round off of the playoffs would make so much sense. As it stands now, other than D1, why play a regular season? The only thing that can happen is kids getting hurt b
