Looks like Albie Crosby is stepping down at Imhotep. Says he needs to focus on health. If true, hope he is OK. It seemed like Albie was main reason Tep was getting the ridiculous amount of talent they've gotten over past several years. Who takes over? And will Tep keep bringing in the kind of talent they have without Crosby?

Big development there, for sure.

And whether the raid is successful certainly will depend on just who becomes the permanent head man (and how fast that decision is made).

But in the meantime you'd have to think there will be a heightened level of texting and calling going on in Philly.

Hmmmm.

Its really unfortunate for the kids who recently transferred into Imhotep mid year after being promised playing time for this coming season.

I am really going to miss this coach. I never got the feeling that Crosby (like many others) was bigger than the program. Volunteering my time writing up game reports for a small internet site, he always made it a point to come over to us and see how we were doing and just talking football. There are also the stories of him assisting giving kids a ride to school (even after the season ended) and going as far as grading papers for the kids who needed the most help in school. He also stayed in touch with those who (after Imhotep) veered off onto the wrong path. No matter how successful he was there, being a coach at Imhotep pales in comparison to being a successful coach at the Prep, LaSalle, Wood or a North Penn.

As much as I always dreamed of being a part of a staff of a successful HS program, I wouldn't want to be there. The biggest part of being a coach there revolves around being a part of the daily life that these kids have to to witness and be around.

All he wanted to do was be with these kids and build up a football program. He did that and more. For that he certainly will land on his feet somewhere and assist in making the program better equipped for success.
