Control the conference?

By controlling the conference, I guess you mean just as in this current year? Because before SF winning it this year and PV winning it last year, they have done anything but control it. Pottsgrove gave SF their best game all year at McNelly stadium (this seems to be overlooked in every write-up I've seen) and beat them last year. SF is 2-15 vs Pottsgrove the last 17 years. PV is 3-7 vs Pottsgrove in their last 10. And that school has 1/3 the school attendance of SF. Now with the new classifications and PAC-10 divisional line-ups, they will no longer play every year. So I guess those two teams will control that division.

SF had 2 TD's called back and took a knee inside the 5 at the end of the game. That game was not as close as the score looks. The Grove will meet either PV or SF in week 10 in most years. They just won't play in the Regular Season and the Grove won't get to play both teams each year. In all honesty, that is the only downside to the new alignment. The new alignment will help both Pottsgrove and the 6A teams in District playoff points. SF has Wilson West Lawn, Exeter, Unionville in their non-league schedule. PV has Pennridge and CR North. Those 2 teams aren't ducking anyone with the new opportunity to schedule 4 out of conference games. Pottsgrove also has an easier run in D1 Playoffs next year. They will not have to meet Archbishop Wood if they win Distriicts. Overall, I see it as a win-win for both divisions.

In response to your 2 TDs called back. SF was helped by two very dubious PI calls on back to back plays (TV announcers couldn't believe they were called). And there last TD was not a catch. Ball hit the ground. At that point it was a an 8 point game. So I'd say it was close. Now, I am not going to argue that the better team didn't win, but I am not sure that has been the case in the past either.
And while I agree it will help the big schools, PG doesn't really need the help in points since they play(ed) a bunch of AAAA schools in conference. They will be #2 this year with 3 losses because of the the AAAA schools they face. And not facing Wood is a bonus. Not sure where Imhotep falls.

Have a ton of respect for Pennypacker and the Grove. Recent history (last 6 years) is 2 PAC championships for Grove and SF and 1 for both PV and Boyertown. Yes, the new alignment hurts PG. It benefits the 6A schools not having to play the weaker 3A schools and losing 100 bonus points before the season even starts. Grove has 4 OOC games that they can schedule anybody. I am sure they will play Boyertown and OJR. Maybe Methacton. They can still choose to player higher class schools... It will just not be in the Regular season. This also helps the likes of PJP, Phxville, UP and Pottstown not having to get beat up on by larger schools. If we are honest, PG is really the only 3A school that can hang with the better larger schools.
