Tigers have been awesome for the last two years, get it done in a great state final, 36-33 in overtime.

First D11 state champ since 2010 Allentown Central Catholic. Joins Wilson as the only Colonial League state champs - Northern Lehigh and Pen Argyl both had previously lost in finals.

A massive day for Josh Snyder, a NWL alum who took over the program and has been wildly successful. And his brother Brett (a former NWL star who tragically died of ALS a couple years back) would be really proud of all they’ve accomplished. A good day for some good people.

Great game and unbelievable year for the school. Undefeated state champions in 3 Fall sports simultaneously. Can't imagine that has ever been done before.

One of the local newspapers here confirmed the three undefeated state champs in the same season is the first time that's happened in the PIAA.

Josh Snyder also was very quick to point out that all three coaches are from New Tripoli and Northwestern Lehigh alums. Pretty fun fall, going to be a long time before we see that again.

Also in local coverage, I forgot that Northwestern lost a football before the season in a tragic accident. Good story on how the team has coped throughout the year here: https://www.lehighvalleylive.com/hi...perfect-season-as-tribute-to-late-friend.html

agreed- very impressive- i kinda wish, the school leaders, AD, and coach- maybe write a "bluepreint" on how to get things done!?

Related note- another thread is talking about "fan attendance." When I watched the 3A final- it seemed like the NL side looked full? Is that accurate?

One thing NWL has going for it is Josh Snyder. It’s nice having a coach who is an alum who deeply loves the school…and was a first team FCS all American wide receiver and national player of the year finalist who wants to come back and run your program. he’s really good, and happens to have a special group of seniors that made an awesome two year run.

I don’t know anything about soccer.

Their wrestling team is really on the upswing. They hired Joey Killar a few years ago, who was running their junior high team. Killar is a state champ from Saucon Valley and multi-time all American in college. They had two very high profile kids transfer out to Notre Dame, one of whom, Dom Sumpolec, they challenged and won and he had to sit out his freshman year. Text messages from his dad and the ND coach recruiting him were a smoking gun. But since then, they have developed a whole bunch of kids who are staying. They have great freshmen this year. I don’t know what the blueprint is, but it’s a small school that’s building.
