It seems the general consensus on this game is Coatesville will win big. Am I correct in assuming that?

Personally, I think PSB can hang around. I thought their defense has played solid the past few weeks. They bend but don't break in that 2 high shell and try to keep everything in front of them. They have solid, aggressive LB play and are big in the lines, as always. I know CV is a different animal than Nesh and CBS, but I like PSB to keep it close. They need to run the ball consistently on O and play keep away. Their big OL needs to dominate CV. Play this game "in a phone booth," and you have a chance. Take the game to the 4th quarter and you may be a turnover away from an upset.

Burrs, who has been very accurate with his spreads and picks, has CV as 22.5 pt favorites and he is laying the points (ouch). This certainly has me second-guessing myself!

HS, yea, but I'm only in the middle with my overall confidence with that pick. I do think it's possible that PSB has improved, is tough enough, and will be prepared to put up a decent fight. I do think they need CV to be off a bit and turn the ball over, penalties to keep it relatively close. We'll see...

Red Raiders have speed everywhere along with a monster OL. Their D has been solid outside the two Dtown East games. #54 along their DL will be in the backfield all night.

Is this game being streamed anywhere? I know GV broadcasts their games on YouTube, but it looks like that may get ugly with Pennridge's star player ruled out.

Saw them vs DWest in a #2 vs 15 1st round game in 2015. PB had this ball control, methodical offense that took up so much clock that when DWest had the ball they had to score, couldn't have any empty possessions. It was all they could do to get it to OT where they eventually lost. Every time PB was in 3rd down, Alley would keep and move the chains, keeping DWest offense off the field. Freaking nightmare.

Anyway, enough about that. If it is that type of game and PB's line is winning that war, then it becomes a game.

With 9:36 on the third-quarter clock the Red Raiders just went up 35-0 and the clock is now running

The Falcons are looking way, way out of sorts.

CV's guys are very, very fast and they are all over the field.

Wow-wow-wow. Coatesville looked like a team that is on a mission tonight. Their skill guys get a lot of credit (and it's deserved) but I was impressed with their line play tonight. Very physical.

Wow, was I wrong?! Contrary to popular belief, I hate to criticize coaching. They have an incredibly difficult job and I commend them for the time and effort they put into these kids. I also understand wins and losses aren't the most important thing.

However, I can't believe Pennsburys offensive gameplan. Why are they running the spread? Their competitive advantage against 99% of teams is their massive OL and very good RB
Coatesville didn't have to respect their skill guys (WRs) because Coatesville has better DBs. So, if Pennsbury splits 4 WRs wide, Coatesville only has to split 4 DBs, leaving 7 in the box. I'll just never understand it. Pennsbury's WRs and passing game just aren't a threat. So why run a spread offense?

I understand Pennsburys spread O worked against some District 1 teams that don't have the athletes Coatesville has. But, that's false hope. Dont they want to win the "big game." You can't beat Coatesville, NP, etc with a spread offense because they won't respect your skill guys. They will stack the box and beat you with numbers.

HSF,
To be fair to Pennsbury, they appeared pretty banged up coming into the game. #35 had an injured hand and couldn't carry the ball. #79 the center appeared to be wearing a harness on his left shoulder. Coatesvilles front 7 was too explosive. Pennsbury Oline could not handle them. Pennsbury ran Te sets but only mustard 22 yds total offense in the first half. They even went with a Te and a fb. That went backwards. If Downingtown East wasn't able to pound Coatesville the week before, Pennsbury most certainly was not going to be able to and I think the coaching staff new that. The bigger question I have is about the Pennsbury defense. Not keeping a Lb in the box when Coatesville went empty was suicidal. Taking your best cover guy and having him cover #3 as opposed to #2 or #6 proved fatal as well. Lastly, trying to cover #6 with a Lb one on one was the final nail in the coffin. Just not a good plan from a good defensive coaching staff. Lastly, when your 1rst team O goes an entire quarter and can't score on the other teams JV, speaks volumes of what you can and can't do on offense against the better defenses in the playoffs. I think it has become quite evident this playoff season that the best teams did not come from SOL this year. Shame to because I believe if Pennridge is at full strength they might have beaten GV last night but we will never know.
