A matchup of Chesmont and District 1 heavyweights w Coatesville 7-1 and DEast at 8-0. DEast has played the more difficult schedule with a quality wins against North Penn and Unionville (who could be the top 5A District 1 team and a separate threat in itself). Coatesville’s offense and defense have been excellent other than an early season close 21-14 loss to traditional state power Cumberland Valley vs DEast dominant run game and dominant run stop defense. Some say let’s see Coatesville explosive offense against a solid team. Can Coatesville defense get through the mammoth DEast o line and slow the run game? Will be answered Friday night. Who wins?

The biggest question is how will each team respond to their schedule? DEast has played much more challenging schedule so does that mean they're more battle tested or will Coatesville be more "rested" since they've been blowing people out for 6 weeks in a row?

Both teams schedules are very comparible if you look at them. North Penn and Cumberland Valley are a wash. Reading and PW both stink and Gratz would most likely beat Roman by at least two scores if they play. Rustin and Unionville proved they were close to equal two weeks ago and both teams play all the other teams in their league. I see very similar schedules.
I see two teams with completely different styles. Coatesville wants to start fast and score early and often to take it's opponents out of the game. DEast doesn't appear to be a fast starting team but once they get it going they maybe one the best 2nd half teams in the state. Whoever imposes their style and will on the other will be the winner. East is at home for the second year in a row. Revenge game after Coatesville pounded them last year 41-6. This one may come down to who has the ball last. Both offenses are very good and can score alot of points. Both defenses are good. Coatesville has the edge in the stats column for what it's worth and Coatesville has a huge advantage in special teams play with quality kickers and punters and 3 punt returns for touchdowns this year. Should be 3 great ones this weekend with LaSalle vs. St. Joe's and Garnet vs. Springfield. Alot of hardware on the line Friday night. Good luck to all.

Impressive young man!

Coatesville offense better this year as they are a year older. DTE is just a better team this year than last year. This one stays a little closer through three quarters but Coatesville puts so much pressure on the opposing D that DTE will crack in 4th. Calling it 35-21 Cville.

If Dtown East is able to get a few breaks (turnovers, penalties) early, they'll be able to keep it close. If not, I see the Red Raiders running away with it.

Chesmont, you think they have the D-speed to stay with Raiders offense?....and the run game to slow things down a little?

If the Raiders get going early it will be a long night for the Cougars. If it’s a chess match it will be relatively close until Cville pulls away late in game. To answer your question... no. The thing is if even if you stop RB Aaron Young and WR Dapree Bryant they still haven’t even thrown to WRs Avery Young and summers who would start on pretty much any other team. If the Cougars ever get D Back speed they’ll be playing for D1 6A title year in and out as the Cougars seem to have almost everything else. My daughter cheered for DEast Soph and Junior years (didn’t go out this year) and I saw pretty all th games but against the besf teams they got beat by long pass or around end. Sorry.. to throw this in but the Cville kids will be playing w emotion w the KKK and swatstika pumpkins in the District and student body walking out today. Good luck to both teams.
