Whats everyone think ? The fact that prep is missing McCord, trotter, rightly , lennigan and a few others are “banged up” should make this interesting...
Central Dauphin is without a doubt the most physical football team I’ve seen this year and they have the size to upfront to go against the prep, will they be able to control the los and run the ball against the prep ??

Hard finding weaknesses seeing them twice. Could have quicker linebackers and have corners not as soft but hard arguing with their success having a defense that scores points. The line(s) is as good as any including 2011, rangy/strong/active DEs, vet LBs and DBs.
Soph Qb advanced beyond his years and game experience, directing, taking ownership, running effectively as needed. Underrated arm, can zip it or drop it in with touch. Smith is strong/underrated runner, sure handed receivers. Good depth. Good spec teams, coverage/kick. Tough schedule has them prepped for any team. They're a confident team, Mid Penn swag but more quiet confidence, no fear playing Prep or any team, hoping all Prep's players are ready to go.

Those above players I mentioned will not be playing ... like I said above , they are without a doubt the most physical team I have seen this year and it’s not even close and I thought there line play was awesome !!! 72 and 51(?) were absolutely bruising all game , had guys 7-8 yds down field all night - reminded me of old north penn / arch wood o line play (Carey) !! The RB is a tough as nails runner and the 2nd option , # 5 I believe is nooo slouch either ... I really liked the QB and than when I found out he was only a sophomore , I liked him even more !! Kid is a gamer and didn’t back down from any situation the other night ..
Doesn’t make every throw but certainly makes the ones he needs to and he is very creative with his feet !!
Love there LB’s and like you said those DE’s are a problem to block !!
Special teams on point as well , kicker can put it anywhere on the field and they cover kicks exceptionally well !!! The only thing I don’t if they can do is punt , cause they didn’t the other night ... lol
Call me crazy but I think this is gonna be a great game and I think CD is gonna pull this thing off !!!
If those above mentioned players were going to be playing I would go prep but all of this combined , I’m seeing a CD upset ...
We’ll see ...

Defense wins Championships. CD gave up 44 to DT, Prep would not have. CD might have some very good players but it takes eleven to win so
some players are weak links and prep will find them.

Frankly, the guys I know, a few from the program, others like myself from the area don't think it would be an upset. But that's just the confidence that come from being with a winning program/historic power, nothing more. I don't think anyone associated with Pitt CC felt they almost upset them but understand what you mean. Will say you want to play the whole team....so it's unfortunate those guys are out. CD has a lot of weapons/ways to beat you and are solid minus bells and whistles. That is a great line (strong) that provides for much; both are excellent there, SJ maybe stronger along DL. Qbs rarely hit. Also, Malik Cooper should get real props for the job he's done. He's a winner, cool under fire. Like Pitt CC, wouldn't surprise whoever wins; break here-there, penalty, bad call, missed tackle, wind. Wind can get weird in that place. It depends on things other than personnel despite efforts to simplify. Two great teams!

With CD getting a bye and not having to travel all across the state for their playoff games they definitely have been given every advantage they can by the PIAA. I wonder if they can take advantage of it.

I think a bye can be an advantage for the coaching staff with scouting, but could hinder the players if the staff doesn't keep them engaged.

Fletch- No disrespect intended....But, please find me one coach that wouldn't want that BYE???????

Im predicting a special teams play for either team will be a huge deciding factor on who wins this game. Punt return, kick return, blocked punt,... something

No doubt they'd want a bye, but I'm not sure the bye always works in a team's favor. The avoidance of game injuries is an obvious advantage, but the rust factor can be real in some situations. It didn't seem to impact CD's O as they rolled West's D.

I don't know Fletch, that wasn't much of a defense to roll from a conference not known to play it (excludes Cville), at least not like CD is use to. Players and coaches are often at odds but I can tell you (repeating from another post) the players wanted to play! All of us....the guys that played the game are saying....no shit Stalker.
**** Tulla reminds what can happen playing the game vs bye weeks so it does matter....whatever your view. There is no reason the powers that be can't eliminate byes. But will say the 6 classification structure lends itself to bye weeks. The thing needs totally revamped including district boundaries. Barring that, go back to 4 classes.

Stalk,
Cville doesn't play defense either. Look at the Dtown West game. I believe they gave up 48 points. How about the 63 they gave up the last time they make state finals. ChesMont is an offense conference, some of the best in the state, but for some reason defense is an afterthought.

D1....most teams have a bad game. Cville's D stats are consistently better than any teams in the CMont for years with year ending averages as follow.

From 2013 -2019; 15, 17, 14, 17, 17, 12, 19. They've done as well as they have and better than many Dist-1 teams because of their defense, not just a huge offense. I have the year ending stats to prove that. Huge offenses give you the Downingtown teams, rarely with decent D's except DEast.
2019 was Cville's worst year defensively per tremendous grad losses but typically and historically since Ortega, they have good defenses. I'm curious what you are looking at telling you they don't play decent defense. Working on the write ups, talk later.

I think what a first time head coach has done in an injury riddled season is very impressive. A receiver at QB down the stretch. Two National recruits in McCord and Trotter out. McCord makes the machine go. To me and the most destructive player Leneghan out on the DL. and to me that was huge in Pgh CC game or its not that close. I had a chance to watch a little film, CD is impressive. I think if Leneghan plays. QB and run game with the big OL. The speed of QB is the difference. Prep wins by 11.....
