Bracket racket

fact check

Distance from Harrisburg to Philadelphia =105 miles

Distance from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh =203 miles

Distance from Harrisburg to Coatesville =68 miles

Distance from Harrisburg to Pine Richland =214 miles.

So to say that District 3 is much closer to District 7 than to District 1 is just flat out wrong. The real issue is there are more schools geographically east than west and somebody needs to get shipped West. It happens in every PIAA sport.

Gabe had the right response, but really a joke targeting 6A and 5A only and Prep and Wood. D3 and D7 to Altoona makes much more sense than D7 and D12 to Chambersburg and D12 to Altoona, unless it is biased and manipulated.

Let's just call it what it. D-3 and to a lesser extent D-1 administrators bitched, so the PIAA caved to their request.
That seems to be the size of it. D3 tired of getting beat by 7 with regularity, D1 tired of facing the monster SJP has become.

The irony here is that D-3 still might have the tougher opponent this week.

District 3 is the primary reason for the changes. Absolutely ludicrous that something like this happened. They'll be more bitching about this afterward than the bitching District 3 has done beforehand.

I'm not so sure that District 1 had a hand in this. Their advantage from the get go is that they go right into the state semi (something that District 3 didn't see as an advantage all these years).

Is it possible that PIAA's location has anything to do with this?
