Best football player to come out of PA

If we're talking past 25 years, Revis. Look at what he did in state championship game in 2003. Incredible HS career.

Pryor has to be a close second.

Both were spectacular multi-sport athletes.

I will make my choice overall,,,,,,, since football was played way before 25 years ago. Montana & Bednarik are right there ....... also I saw Tony Dorsett play in high school and college and pros and I never saw a back hit a hole faster. All 3 are 1st ballot hall of Famers. PS.... do not underestimate Dorsett's toughness ---- he did his best running between tackles.

Saw both Dorsett and Montana in college. Dorsett was the best college player I've ever seen. Gotta admit Joe Montana had some very memorable college games. From what I hear and read Bednarik was right there if not better. So many great ones Jim Kelly, Joe Namath, Johnny Lujack and Leon hart both pa high school quarterbacks who won the heisman trophy at notre dame.

sam,

Good start..

If that LB was meant to be Greg Buttle (PSU/NYJ), he hailed from Linwood, NJ.

Speaking of LB's, was anyone more hyped coming out of high school and college in recent time than LaVar Arrington? Great h.s. career, outstanding college career( some will argue), respectable shorter-lived Pro career when healthy.

Bednarik!! Tough as nails and played both ways. Would call today's players "Candy A$$es"!! Also started later than others because of the war! Prick of a guy though. Caddied for him when I was a kid. Had a huge Burton bag with the thinnest leather strap that would dig into the shoulder like nothing else. I think he filled the bag with extra balls just to piss the caddie off. Very good golfer though. Club champ at Saucon Valley and Whitemarsh Valley!!

High School and College, pro career tainted with injuries..

Dan Connor, helped his team get to three straight title games and the eastern conference final in his fourth year. Also all time leading tackler at PSU which is fairly well known for its history of great linebackers.
