Asst. Coaches

Who are some of the up and coming asst coaches in SEPA? If say, I was an AD that I might need to keep an eye on?

Steve Brazzle from Coatesville...he's a DLine coach, but would be an excellent D Coordinator for someone very soon. Has college and arena football experience as a player.

Thanks for starting this off. It be interesting to see the relation between successful programs and the names that are mentioned. Obviously, a guy from Coatesville at the very least comes from a winning program.

Most, if not all, great programs have quality assistant coaches behind the scenes. No head coach can do it all by himself.

I wouldn't call him an up and coming coach.. but my vote for the top asst coach to come out of our area would be Mike Carey...I understand he has been very successful in business so not sure if that could ever happen..

Beans - I hope all is well. Agree. Carey and Jones were Becks coordinators in NPs only State Champ. 2003, been a long time.

Yea- Carey was/is a great coach. Not exactly an up -and-comer.

Gordon from Lasalle is one but I hear he stepped down.

I just ran into Carey at the Horse Tavern and he said he missed coaching and he definitely wants to coach again. I asked him he was going back to Wood and he just smiled. I'll drink to that !

Mike Carey is NOT going back to Wood.

Gordon is probably the second best/well known AC in the area behind Carey. Neither are up and coming as both could have been HC if they wanted to at any point in the past 5+ years. Both are very successful in their respective fields and would rather just coach.

Adkins at Wood would have been the easy answer if this was a year ago.

Mike Barainyak Sr. In my opinion should have been given the Pennridge job up until the scrutiny the neighborhood gave the administration... which is BS! Hell of a coach and overall good guy. A little loud, curses a bit but let’s be real... I haven’t been around a staff that doesn’t at nearly any level. However, I don’t want this post to be taken out of proportion because from what I hear Cody Muller is a class act and stand up guy. Does anyone know whose on that current staff?
