Was anyone in attendance? I saw the final was 38-0. AW offense is in a rut as they’ve been held scoreless in back to back games.

Real bad. Offense was hampered by costly turnovers all day. Center /qb exchange cost them the most points. Couldn’t stop the run or establish a run game of their own. I don’t see them beating prep or lasalle and ultimately in a dog fight against Roman.

Wow, really? That shocks me. I had much higher expectations for them this year. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic. According to PAFootballNews.com, they currently have 8 players with Division 1 offers. I know a lot of them are only juniors, but I thought they may have had the most talented team in the PCL Red (at least not named St. Joe’s Prep). I did have reservations about their coaching and maybe that has not improved. I haven’t seen much of them this year, but I’ll certainly watch them against Lasalle and SJP.

I think the increasing focus on D1 offers is the problem. Kids are getting offers as HS freshmen and sophomores who, ten or even five years ago, probably wouldn't have got any till after their junior seasons, if then. And of course there's a difference between an offer from Alabama or Ohio State and one from Western Michigan or even Rutgers.

I listened to the SJP broadcast of their game with Milton. The student-announcers seemed as focused on which players on both teams had offers where than on the game.

That’s fair Tulla and I do agree. I use it as a rough gauge of talent. Of course there are kids who may be better high school players who don’t have offers. It just seems there is a fairly sizable difference between AWs expectations and results.
