Without knowing specifics it seems like a good idea to flood the island with anything American, tourists, goods, etc....showing them what they are missing. Overt subversion!

Yea why not Cuba it has been what 50+years. If we are doing business with China, Saudi Arabia, and some of these African Nations why not Cuba, plus I love the cigars

Based on the celebrations in Miami, this has to be another good move by obama. NOT

The guy is desperate to find at least one success. Better judgment says this is going to be yet another strikeout by president incapable. Ironic that he is better at making deals with fellow communists than even moderate Republicans.

Even johnny the joker and the other guy, delco or something, couldn't have thought it would have sunk this low. Their absence of posts says it all. At least they deserve some credit for knowing to keep quiet when removing egg from face.

Kill em with kindness

Talking policy, not who initiated it. Bomb the island with Christmas presents, giving them a taste of America, subvert the sobs then make them the 51st state. Come on njfan47, it's a wonderful vacation spot, the cigars are great and the women even greater!

Stalker, as a half marathoner, the cigar thing doesn't do anything for me! As far as the vacation spot, there have to be other places in the Caribbean.

I think the overall point is that just as the oil price decline was about to really take a toll on the dictators of Venezuela, Cuba, etc., president goofy showed incredibly bad timing in stepping in and lending a hand. Talk about bad timing. He's desperate and he also leans in their direction politically, so it's not a surprise.

Could a deal with Venezuela or Brazil, two other socialist meccas, be next? You never know when you have a six-year failure in the White House anxious for some sort of legacy. The next two years are going to be ugly.
