I would appreciate it if anyone knows of streaming or tv coverage of any of this weeks playoff games. Thanks in advance.

Garnet Valley streams live video through youtube every week. Go to their website.

Thanks for the tip last week, watched PV game, was a very good, quality stream...

Doesn't the PIAA charge exuberant fees for streaming state playoff games?

there is a fee for d1, then the state final fees go way up.

Ok, so I forgot Springfield live feed at ssdcougars.tv. What's interesting is havenfootball.net has the district final game up on their website. It's possible they will broadcast the game over the internet, but it's audio only. Springfield broadcasts their games live via video at home. The question is whether they will pay the video fee to broadcast. It's more expensive than audio broadcast.

Well, they are probably exuberant about charging EXORBITANT fees for the games.
Televising games, in District XI, has hurt attendance at lots of games. We have 3 cable companies televising games live. Finding out how little they pay for games rights is like cracking the DaVinci Code.

Lehigh Valley has fantastic coverage of their games. Down in SEPA TCN does a very good job, when they cover games. Boy would it be great to see TCN cover more.

Per the PIAA Handbook, PIAA charges $4,000 for video broadcast rights to state quarterfinals, $4,500 for state semifinals. PCN has exclusive rights to the finals, so I'm not sure what their bid was, but it was probably quite steep.
Radio fee is $400 for quarters, $450 for semis, and $500 for finals at 5A/6A.
As much as I'd like to think so, no one is staying at home to curl up to their radio/smartphone and listen to us if they could actually be at the game, but a full HD broadcast like Service Electric does in the Valley would certainly keep some folks from attending.

Kberg

Does this mean WNPV won't be broadcasting the D1 final tonight?

We are absolutely doing it tonight! 1440-AM and wnpv1440.com
Point of the post was it's a lot less expensive to do audio-only broadcast. Hope the GV guys have a big checking account :)

Hey KBerg, I suggest watching the video stream, but turn down the volume and cue up 1440 for the audio. That's what I plan to do. I just hope both are synchronized.

The game is on -- and they do a nice job.

Garnet Valley staying in it as it's 28-17 NP at half (but Jags are playing tough).

Kevin, 2 cable companies were there liveSECTV and RCN both had the game. ABWood had about 200 fans there, while Whitehall had 1,500 to 2,000. TV, live TV, once again killed the live gate.
Rights fees you listed for last night's games amounted to 666 admissions. How many were lost on a damp, chilly night where the stands were soaked, because of TV?
