ACCHS wins on a pick six which should have been brought back. Kid was down but it was not called. No replay in HS football.

What a win for ACC. I know they may not have gotten the results they’ve wanted lately, but I believe they have something good going up there. That has to be one of the top staffs in the state.

What’s impressed me is they graduated pretty much all of their major contributors but Lavon Johnson from last years D11 champs, and have almost completely reloaded.

Tim McGorry certainly was successful in his run as the ACC offensive coordinator (he was there for the Nosovitch state championship). Expanded his expertise with a stint in college at Moravian before coming back to his alma mater (he was the QB on the 1998 state champs).

He’s also benefited from the Jim Morgan’s tree. Morgans is back as the associate head coach (his retirement job), he lured Paul Hegedus away from Parkland to be their offensive line/strength coach. Dan Kendra (the elder) is coaching quarterbacks, Jamie Pagliaro is coaching the defensive line, Mike Cerimele (former Penn State captain) is the runnings back coach - just tons of Central/Parkland guys who played for or coached with (or both) Morgans. Plus he has Rob Melosky on staff, George Laird has some college experience as his DC, Matt Kosciolek has been a head coach. They know what they’re doing.

ACC does a fair impression of Dr. Jekyll-Mr. Hyde beating Emmaus 21-0 and Parkland 14-7 (some kind of defense there) but losing at Easton 30-7 !?

(Whispers Easton is the best team in the league in terms of personnel. Central is big on defense, and can gum up offenses with Lavon Johnson (6’4 320, all state/spot ad a junior/Michigan lean) blowing up the middle, and you saw the limits of Parkland’s roster in that game. They similarly thwarted Emmaus’s power run game, and won field position enough to get a few scores. Easton’s team speed was a bad match up for ACC, they got outside or got the ball to the perimeter quickly, and got huge plays from Williams and Fears.

And the split between Easton and Parkland from a talent standpoint is closer to the first half of that game (21-7 Rovers), but the adjustments, discipline, and coaching is closer to the second half (17-0 Parkland).
