1. ST. JOES PREP
2. ARCHBISHOP WOOD
3. COATESVILLE
4. IMHOTEP
5. MALVERN
6. NORTH PENN
7. HAVERFORD
8. LASALLE
9. DOWNINGTOWN EAST
10. PENNRIDGE

Nice list. One could probably post that same pre-season top 10 every year for the next decade and it would be pretty accurate.

I will wait to make my predictions. I want to see what transpires when District 12 officially opens up free agency on March 9th at 4pm. It's good to know that players will have the option this year of jumping to a District 1 school if their demands are not met.

Couple questions about your top 10. The top 2 are defending state champs so they should get some love, but after that I have to ask do you mean Haverford School (Inter-Ac) or Haverford High(Central) either way I don't see them as top 10 worthy. Haverford School loses a lot. And Haverford High won't even win the Central next year. Prep is fine, they already have reloaded. Wood just needs to get another transfer or two and will be fine as well. Coatesville returns a lot and the second year of the coach's kid at QB will be fun. Great HS QB, not sure about D1 at next level. Imhotep has maybe another year of being state championship worthy before kids stop going there cause of Schmidt. Heard the feeder program is not a big fan of his and they are going to start sending those kids to the Catholic League soon. Malvern has talent, but a new HC may take some time to adjust to. North Penn always reloads and seeing the talent they have returning they will be a top 10 team, but don't count on them winning District 1 this year. LaSalle without Madden isn't as scary as you think. They are very good, but are losing ground in the Catholic League. DT East loses a lot up front, do they have the underclassmen to step up? I don't think at the same level as this year's group. And Pennridge in the top 10? Really??? Weren't they 6-6 last year? I also believe they were mercy ruled 3 times last year and that is with 2 All-League ILBs and a D1 DE. They only return the Tarburton kid, who is a stud, of those 3. And they lose 90% of their offense with their QB graduating. The tall QB can't run a spread offense, he isn't mobile. So unless their schedule changed I don't see them as top 10.

I'd pick Garnet Valley over Haverford. Also SpingFord is right up there w Pennridge.

Bucks and Chest mont

Don't disagree with any of your points..

Thought process was heavy weighting to recent performance. Also, SOL does not seem to have much in pipeline with Pennsbury 2016 performance and Neshaminy lost a lot and has key lingering injuries that could spill into 2017. Pennridge with Tarburton back and to your point if Jervis can work out, they could be better this year.

NP lost key guys, but SOL did not show much else last year other than UD and surprise from Bensalem. No 2016 young team poised to dethrone Beck NP.

Inter-Ac pretty darn good this year but you make great points about Haverford School losses and new coach at Malvern. A healthy Allison for MP, may be one of area top backs again if coaching and o-line hold up. Time will tell..

Prep did reload, but lost a lot all 5 starting line, WR, LB, a very good RB not named swift and then will have to adjust to life without 7. Still has to be ranked 1, til someone knocks them off.

Wood lost some great players as well, but has a very strong junior and soph. classes, should be fine without transfers, but I'm sure they won't be turned away..Allegedly Wood not accepting Senior transfers going forward.

Coatesville strong 2016 performance by young team, no pun intended, a lot coming back and read here strong Ridley team in 16 will have lost a lot to graduation.

Tep and Schmidt do not seem to be a long term fit, but like you said, they return enough to go deep in class 4A, with Young, Wells and Speights to name a few..

LaSalle loss of madden will be hard to replace, and breaking on new qb for third straight year. But size of school and good senior size will help to try and stay a step ahead of Judge and Roman in Red division. Roman guys feel they are on the rise...

This may be Spring Ford's year to make a statement but have to go deep in playoffs. Scarcelle will be missed but Pergine can spin it pretty good.

Hope to see Garnet valley replace Buttermore and Juliano and be back in 17! The "16 team was fun to watch.

Not sure what the Downingtown's have back??

Agree with Relayer, hopefully there will be some surprise new blood at the top....
