    Wood - LaSalle

Wood leads 17-0 late in 2nd qtr. LaSalle's defense is really struggling to stop Wood's running attack and their offense can't get anything going.

    PCL Red

    100% agree

    PCL Red

Career back-up QBs at LaSalle and SJP have ZERO chance of playing for an Ivy school. More broadly, the back-ups in all positions have little-to-zero chance of playing in college. Your point about college and post-college is exactly what I said earlier - parents are making HS decisions based on...

    PCL Red

Where is there any mention of "weak parenting" on this thread? The comments about parents/parenting are that they are taking their sons out of football and/or how they are making their high school decisions. How/why is that "weak" in any way? Parents who opt out of the sport most closely...

    PCL Red

This is spot on: "agree with you that much of the problem has nothing to do with football but with the attractiveness (in terms of education and value for the money spent) of many of the diocesan high schools." Most parents are not making school decisions with football blinders on. Unless...

Can Anyone Handicap the NP/LaSalle game? What am I going to see?

Agree with SJP80. LaSalle is 7-2 vs NP since 2010 and they'll get to 8-2 easily.

High School Football America Preseason Top 100

    http://highschoolfootballamerica.com/high-school-football-america-preseason-top-100/ PA teams: 55) Archbishop Wood 66) St. Joe's Prep 87) Pittsburgh Central Catholic 90) Pine-Richland

    St. Joe's Prep vs. Wood

Totally agree with Huck on this. The rest of the PCL will be hard pressed to hold Prep under 35 points. If Wood keeps the margin of defeat below 20 points, consider it an upset.

    SJP 2016

The season is a whopping 2 games old (or 1 game for SJP), so it might be a little premature for statements like these. SJP is talented, no doubt, but HS football results are determined by a lot more than talent alone (e.g. LaSalle’s victory in PCL championship last year).

    TEP....DAVID OR GOLIATH?

Great quote/movie reference but Bill Murray didn't say it. Warren Oates (Sergeant Hulka character) said it.

    Parkland 16 - LaSalle 13 (OT) FINAL

Put a fork in the PCL? WTF are you talking about? All 3 will be in position for deep state playoff runs again next year. By the way, West Catholic beat Dunmore 28-10 to advance to AA semis. I guess the PCL isn't quite finished yet, right?

    Ricky on Transfers

How is reporting the fact that a team has transfers "calling out"? He's reporting factual information, not making a judgement on whether transfers are good or bad for high school athletics. If a team's roster has changed materially due to transfers (in or out), it's bad reporting if he doesn't...

    PCL realignment in 2016

How did the path for 6A schools get easier? Their path to D12 title game is exactly the same - LaSalle, Roman, Judge & SJP will participate in a playoff for a spot in the D12 title game, just like they did this year.

    SJP

LaSalle had 6 non-league games scheduled this year with no bye weeks (McDonogh game cancelled due to weather). The addition of 3 required reg season PCL games means that non-league schedule would likely drop to 3. North Penn seems like a fixture and DeMatha game has deep meaning for both...

    PCL realignment in 2016

What happens if 2 teams in the same classification have the same reg season league - e.g. if Ryan and Wood have same reg season league record and neither is Red Division champ, who moves on to PIAA playoffs? Is it determined by their head-to-head result?

    PCL realignment in 2016

http://mobile.philly.com/beta?wss=/philly/blogs/rally&id=360468181 Rick O'Brien's article: Catholic League athletic directors passed a proposal for football realigment by a 10-3 vote in a meeting Thursday morning at Archbishop Carroll. The move came after the PIAA voted in October to expand...

The East: AAAA Top 30 (1-10)

Does Upper Dublin have any quality wins other than Pennsbury? It seems like many (including Rick O'Brien) are overlooking their relatively weak schedule and focusing only on the # of losses. Also, I'm not sure that UD holding Pennsbury to fewer rushing yards than LaSalle is as impressive as...

    LaSalle 42 Simon Gratz 7 3rd Qt

Really encouraging to see Explorers come out strong with no letdown/hangover from last week whatsoever. LaSalle takes on Parkland at 1pm next Saturday at Northeast HS.

District 12 game of the year coming

Aaron Carter ran a Twitter poll with 58% predicting an Imhotep win (his preview article is here - http://dlvr.it/CqFr49). I give Wood a slight edge based on big-game experience but wouldn't be surprised if Imhotep wins.

    Wood/Imhotep

Pretty much everyone saw it coming since before the season and now it's here. I haven't seen any posts yet but this should be a great game. Aaron Carter ran a Twitter poll with 58% predicting an Imhotep win (his preview article is here - http://dlvr.it/CqFr49). Curious to hear other...
