Olberman suspended by ESPN...

The super-righteous, pompous keith olbermann was suspended by ESPN over an incident on Twitter with a woman who graduated from Penn State in 1982. olbermann tweeted that "Penn State students are pitiful because they are Penn State students - period." This after the woman had tweeted "We Are..." after Penn State raised $13 million in the most recent THON (short for marathon dance fund raising activity). After olbergeek was made aware by the woman that she was tweeting about the success of the fundraiser, he said it didn't matter.

The childish olbermann joins record-breaking liar Brian Williams as prominent liberals on the sidelines. With obama making gaffes almost daily, it has been a bad year for liberals. Any guesses as to who might be next? Maybe chris matthews will go off the deep end, or hasn't he already done so, and it's just that nobody is watching?

Team Maryland 2015 Roster, BIG 33 Classic

Team Maryland 2015 Roster, Big 33 Classic. [/B]

Here is Maryland's roster cobbled together from newspapers, conference, school sites, etc….showing position, size, high school, W/L, stats and where headed if known. Team Maryland had their first on-field try outs January 25th at the Baltimore Ravens Performance Center http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/ua-performance-center.html where 84 players were invited. This followed many months of scouting and reviewing by coaches headed by last year's "Classic" head coach Brian Van Dusen, who is this year's Selection Committee Chair. The following listings are the result of that process. As a reference point for some of the players, here are the 4 classification winners last year, largest to smallest.

4A Northwest 14-2 beat Old Mill 11-5, 34-31

3A Franklin 13-1 beat Damascus 14-1, 35-21

2A Douglas-PG 14-0 beat Dunbar 10-4, 38-0

1A Fort Hill 15-0 beat Douglass-Balt 12-2, 40-8

Liacouris Center/Football

Way off topic as a lead in but what a great venue that is....watching PIAA Playoff games between Abington-Pennsbury (49-40 Ghosts) and Plymouth Whitemarsh-Ridley (44-41 PW). Lots of leg room for us tall guys and great french fries.
PS: if Abington and Pennsbury are Top 10 teams (per PennLive) the field across the state must be extremely weak this year.

Anyway about football, how did they get-afford a venue like that knowing the pathetic facilities we often see PIAA football games played at?

Thank You...and Taking Suggestions

I've been navigating my way around the website itself to learn some things. I'm not going to tinker with the message board anymore. It will be business as usual in regards to that.

I hope you all will continue to be subscribers to the site as I will do my best to bring fresh content on an almost daily or weekly basis. If you have any suggestions (outside of banning another poster, lol), feel free to share them here and we'll see what can be worked out.

I'll be monitoring the boards to make sure nothing gets way out of control (imagine that).

If any of you would like to contribute a weekly article as a guest writer, please let me know and I can make it happen. I know there are VERY knowledgeable people on this forum in regards to Pennsylvania High School football and it can do nothing but enhance the entire website. Thank you!

Steve Wilmot takes over as 'Skins head man

Long time Assistant Coach Steve Wilmot has become Neshaminy's new football Head Coach. On "The Ridge" for some 20 years or so his various titles during that time have included Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Line Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach (all worn during former Head Coach Mark Schmidt's reign).

By way of background, Wilmot is from Flourtown. He went to Springfield Montco High where he played ball played under Bob Malehorn and Dave Puchulski. He then attended Lock Haven University where he was a standout on the grid (and while a Bald Eagle he first became acquainted with Schmidt who was coaching the line at that time).

Wilmot teaches at Neshaminy and is married to the former Jennifer Watto (she is the daughter of John Watto who was a football coach at Neshaminy during the late '60s and then the '70s -- Coach Watto was also the "lifting coach" back then, introducing many of us to the weight room, and he was a terrific guy with it a real pleasure working our butts off both for him and "The Steel").

This looks to be a good call as Wilmot brings quite a bit to the table (he's well respected and very capable from all I've heard). And in so many ways being Schmidt's right hand man Wilmot certainly learned his craft under one of the great ones of 2001 Old Lincoln Highway. Plus being "part" of the Neshaminy family is super as nothing makes the folks happier in Langhorne than keeping it close to home.

Good call by the administration and AD in making this happen.

I'm expecting great things from him and his charges.

Go 'Skins!
