New Message Board Features and An Apology

First- I want to apologize for being too heavy handed with deleting whole threads as opposed to the single post. With the new message board, I'll be able to contact that member directly. I run the whole website by myself and I know you guys can police yourself. I had a lot of things going on event-wise and i have something coming up with my wife that'll have my attention for most of May. So I will be around to answer questions about the new look of the board, after 8 P.M. though. I have a regular 9 to 5 and a family to take care of. So, again, have at it.

So here we go...it'll take awhile to get used to. Thank you.

Here are some of the new Features & Benefits for the new Rivals.com Message Boards:

1. They are a responsive design[/B]; meaning, they were designed for desktop, tablets and mobile - all in one design and all at the same URL. No need to go to a different address to get the proper version for your device

2. They have a modern, secure and actively maintained framework built for speed & stability

3. There will be no limit on Thread History, so you can reference old topics or replies at any time

4. There is Private Messaging, Social Profiles and Rich(er) Content - embeddable video, embeddable Tweets, etc

5. You now can set up alerts and follow users so you don't miss replies to topics you're participating in or miss great posts from your favorite users. In yourNews Feed you'll be able to see all of the topics, users, and content that you wish to follow.

6. Dynamic quoting system so what you select within a thread can be quoted without copying and pasting any code. You select what you want to quote and click Reply over that selection, and it will be put automatically in your reply. You can quote multiple posts and automatic quoting is set up so that you can always follow the conversation with a user forgetting to quote.

7. Improved navigation and search : quickly jump to the first unread post in a thread or to the top and bottom of each thread. Advanced search features include by keyword, date or thread title.

Video: D'Andre Swift and Michal Menet Win Rivals Camp MVP Awards

I was able to get video of the MVP awards presentation from the Rivals Camp in New Jersey this weekend. I'll have some other things on other PA kids as well. D'Andre Swift of St. Joe's prep won the overall Most Valuable Player award for running backs. (He goes first, then everybody else, it's the whole ceremony actually). Michal Menet of Exeter HS won the MVP for Offensive Linemen.

IMG 7V7 Championship Qualifier/Rivals Camp (NJ)

There's a 7v7 tournament (Susquehanna Valley Sports/PA SWAG - NFA 7V7 Qualifier) this weekend that'll have a lot of players from the PA area (and other states as well). The top 3 teams qualify for the national tournament in Florida.

The event will be at the Spooky Nook (funny name) Sports Complex in Manheim Township, PA. If any of you decide to come up, email me at rivalspa@gmail.com and I can make sure i have a parking pass for you, so you don't have to pay.

There's several teams from the Philly area including:

717 Young Guns
PA PLAYMAKERS (Eastern PA)
Middletown HS (Central PA)
Philly's Finest (Southeastern PA)
Pocono Mountain West HS
Reading HS
Swag Backs (Southeastern PA)
Team 412 (Pittsburgh, PA)
Team Delco (Southeastern PA)
TK Impact Sports (Pittsburgh, PA)
Zero 2 Max (Southeastern PA)

I'll be at the Rivals camp on Sunday as well.

*edit* I'll post the links later on in the week after I get them together.

Thanks!

Eight Grader Commits to Bergen Catholic

http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/8970366922647486274/josh-mckenzie-no-1-rated-wrestler-football-player-selects-bergen-catholic-for-high-school/

A lot to unpack in this article. The first signing day-sequel article I've seen for an 8th grader in a major paper.

And where were the PCL schools on this one? Wood, LaSalle, and Prep are all closer to Wall Township than Bergen Catholic.

Does anyone on this board have any confidence in obama to negotiate a smart

nuclear deal with Iran? Based on all that we have seen so far, poor judgment, his anti-imperialist views (vs. Israel), and some crazy desire to even things out by letting lesser nations have nuclear capability, I don't think there is any reason to have confidence in getting done a deal that would be beneficial to us.

As with most liberal policy, it is done to make the liberal who is in power look good (Clinton housing policy, as one example), only to have really bad effects years down the road (Clinton housing bubble, as one example).
