First- I want to apologize for being too heavy handed with deleting whole threads as opposed to the single post. With the new message board, I'll be able to contact that member directly. I run the whole website by myself and I know you guys can police yourself. I had a lot of things going on event-wise and i have something coming up with my wife that'll have my attention for most of May. So I will be around to answer questions about the new look of the board, after 8 P.M. though. I have a regular 9 to 5 and a family to take care of. So, again, have at it.

So here we go...it'll take awhile to get used to. Thank you.

Here are some of the new Features & Benefits for the new Rivals.com Message Boards:

1. They are a responsive design[/B]; meaning, they were designed for desktop, tablets and mobile - all in one design and all at the same URL. No need to go to a different address to get the proper version for your device

2. They have a modern, secure and actively maintained framework built for speed & stability

3. There will be no limit on Thread History, so you can reference old topics or replies at any time

4. There is Private Messaging, Social Profiles and Rich(er) Content - embeddable video, embeddable Tweets, etc

5. You now can set up alerts and follow users so you don't miss replies to topics you're participating in or miss great posts from your favorite users. In yourNews Feed you'll be able to see all of the topics, users, and content that you wish to follow.

6. Dynamic quoting system so what you select within a thread can be quoted without copying and pasting any code. You select what you want to quote and click Reply over that selection, and it will be put automatically in your reply. You can quote multiple posts and automatic quoting is set up so that you can always follow the conversation with a user forgetting to quote.

7. Improved navigation and search : quickly jump to the first unread post in a thread or to the top and bottom of each thread. Advanced search features include by keyword, date or thread title.

Not thrilled about no thread view on the new format. It will take some time getting used to.

You definitely get an "A" for effort, Ed! Appreciate your "Toils & Turmoils."

I always have preferred the "topic view," anyhow. But I don´t know if the East/West split was such a "grand idea....." kinda enjoyed those Pennstuckians´input here....

Not sure what's going on. I'll have to look at a few things when I get home. I know i have to fix a few links from the homepage or ask my producer to get it.

C'mon, guys! Adapt and overcome.

Actually, I am responding only because I want to determine if I qualify as a "Well-Known" Member.

That's the spirit! LOL!
I joined in 2000 (under a different name), and I usually visited several times a day. The current format is strikingly different, but hopefully I'll get used to it! There are an incredible amount of posters on this site...may it continue!

.....and I thought root canal was painful. I know Ed had nothing to do with the change, so we'll make the best of it. Aragorn, you have the right idea. Quoting the person we are responding to will help.

I knew what the board would look like a while back and I was hoping it wouldn't turn too many people off. You guys have been here way longer than me and I know this is a big change.

Change is always inevitable, people adapt. The new look shouldn't turn too many people off, may attract a few new faces. Gotta be 100% honest, and this is not intended to offend at all. What may turn people off is when there is no vulgarity, no personal attack, nothing malicious, but questions a mistake a certain person made or a stance on something. People battle all of the time on here, no big deal. However, if a certain person gets called out on something, here comes a snarky comment and the thread gets removed or locked.

Jive - I was wrong and I apologize. I'm not like that at all.

I've been waiting for the board to switch over. I definitely want to promote it more. You guys make this the best HS board on the network for high school sites and it's always good convo. Thank you.
